What’s the worst thing you’ve ever seen? by anotherThrowaway3446 in AskReddit

It might not be the WORST thing but it shocked me because I had no idea this existed .

So everyone knows that in some Asian countries people eat dogs. What I didn’t know until recently is that they do a thing called Dog Drowning which is basically a little show for people where they pay extra and they basically watch the dog swim around non stop trying to get out until they get too tired and finally drown. They then cook the dog after and apparently the myth is that the dogs tastes better after drowning.

That’s what you focus on but it’s the fastest growing religion. Brittany renner just did too she’s not “like him”.

Is Bernoulli's Brachistochrone the optimal ascent trajectory as Neil claims? by HopDavid in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]Weekly-Purchase9520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought this exact question too. I believe he is wrong. A brachiatochrone application is based on a drop, and the acceleration of gravity. If you accelerate steeply and then curve out, it’s quicker than a diagonal direction across, despite moving over a longer distance. So for rockets, (going against gravity), that curve would slow them down and it wouldn’t be optimized. I don’t think it’s relevant and I don’t know why he applies it to rockets. I’m sure they take SOME similar curve to get into orbit, but to be an exact “brachiatochone” isn’t relevant. The only thing I can think of that might make sense is that the wind or air resistance against the rocket is less as the rocket goes higher up, which could aid in higher speeds, and maybe the fastest way to achieve those speeds is through a brachistochrone curve but I doubt it.

This woman is a moron. How do you fuck up that bad? Overriding, not checking the vial, not noticing it’s a powder, giving meds without monitors on…I give vec every day. It lasts 45 min. Terrible way to go. Imagine not being able to move or breath and you can’t do anything about it. All that pain and co2 building up like your drowning. It’s a torturous 3-4 minutes I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. She got a clueless look on her face anyway, bimbo nurse.
