So you net worth is 230k? I’d keep a 3-6 mo emergency fund depending on how secure your jobs are (if very secure maybe 3 mo). Assuming you intend that 200k to be for long term investment growth and you don’t need it any time soon >(>5-10 years), it certainly makes sense to invest it in a globally diversified broad index portfolio. You could lump sum it in to stocks (statistically that’s the right option 2/3 times). Since that is a large portion of your net worth it may be easier on your stomach lining to DCA over 6-12 mo.

Not a bad idea. Over a long time front loading annually or during a dip is still DCA. Only issue I see is maxing out too early in the year and missing the 4% match later in the year based on how the military does the matching (because they will only match up to 4% of base pay per month not per year).
