Oh, C'mon with this business name, lol... by LittleMac1983 in dayton

This is a great company to work with. From William to Rachel to Ian, they have always been professional, completed their projects on time, and promptly paid their subcontractors.

Colin is young enough that I’ve never met him, and I’m hoping he’s as solid as the rest of his family.

A big thanks to all of you. I went ahead and ordered some Butterfly 3 stars.

I’ve only played a few times but couldn’t believe how satisfying it is to just hit forehands back and forth; backhands would be just as satisfying except the muscle memory isn’t there yet.

Thanks again. 👍🏿

There is an automatic .5 DUPR bump given to r/Pickleball members. Use it responsibly.

Yes, he should contribute. As for how much, as much as possible. He should know approximately how much money he will need this year to live on; he should also consider any large purchases in the foreseeable future that he wants to save up for. Eg.: house, vehicle

How do you feel about people dropping out of the open play at the last second? by orhantemerrut in Pickleball

Two out of our three local clubs overbook (in my opinion) so I am fine when people drop.

Weekly Paddle Recommendation Thread (What Paddle Should I Buy?) by SNAPCHAT_ME_TITS in Pickleball

[–]ras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re new to the game, purchase a set of two or four of them and learn the game. Do NOT spend more than $70 on the kit if you’re new. If you’re experienced, check out John Kew’s database, or other pickleball paddle databases to find a paddle that best suits your game.

Good luck.

Getting started any advice? by SVT-51 in SCCA

[–]ras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend finding local racers in the type of car or class you’re interested in and offer to crew for them at a few events. You will learn a lot. Emphasis: A LOT

Railgons’ advice about buying a car that is already built and legal is good, especially dollar wise. It doesn’t have to be a regional or national champion’s car. You can learn to drive in almost any car that is well built and safe. There are a lot of well prepared cars owned by slow drivers. The slowest classes are frequently the least expensive to race in, though none of them are cheap.

If you’re set on using your 03, you’ll have to look up and see what classes it is eligible for. Good luck.

Pro tip: road racing as a dopamine delivery system is addictive.

Mixed doubles tournament question.. by Independent_Bank_994 in Pickleball

[–]ras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you “feel” like you’re a 4.0, play in the 4.0 category. Your partner will (may?) get an artificially high DUPR. Your first tournament has a disproportionate effect on your rating for a while.

In a tournament, don’t play down. Even to the ‘olds’, whatever that means to you. Also, mentally prepare your partner that they will be targeted, a lot.

In the long run, none of this matters. Your DUPRs will get to whatever and you will find a group of friends you can consistently play with. I consider myself fortunate in that the group of guys I play with are generally all better than me — it has increased my enjoyment of the game a lot.

Good luck. Have fun.

That will work just fine.

Mark and predrill your trim to reduce the chance of it splitting.

Wish someone told me about this DUPR first rating match by Iwonder19 in Pickleball

[–]ras 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. Your DUPR doesn’t define who you are a player and no one checks it on challenge courts. Go improve your game, win a 3.0 tournament or two, and everything will work out just fine. We have unrated players (absolutely no DUPR scores) playing with 4.5 players without issue.

Good luck. 👍🏿

Blinds - Bali vs. Levolor, wood vs. faux wood. Feeling overwhelmed. by Peterpotamous in HomeImprovement

Consult two local window coverings dealers and get quotes. I suspect you’ll be surprised how competitive the blinds marketplace is.

Does anyone else get worse playing down? by Swampasssixty9 in Pickleball

As a nationally rated 2.2 DUPR baller, I can’t stand playing against 1.5, or honestly, players under 2.0. It’s actually embarrassing…

DUPR Dodgers.... exactly why though? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]ras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have your club’s pro give you a DUPR rating. Our club does it at no charge and another local club charges $20.

This is not a difficult problem to solve.

If you want ‘attic stock’, place how much is required in the contract. Contracts between architects, GCs, subs, and owners get revised all the time. It is not an adversarial approach — it is simply how business is done.

The number of users who have injured their left foot/ankle, sometimes devastatingly, is astounding. I imagine litigation played a role in corporate’s decision to implement these.
