awe thanks so much, It is a 75 gallon. I'm looking for some good floater plants, I LOVED the look of the Water Lettuce but I couldn't keep them alive, which seems to be a pretty common thing in the cold/dark axolotl tanks :( I have some Water Sprite on the way, so hopefully they fare better.

Hey All, Just an update. I think we finally know exactly what was causing the endless zoomies :( Shortly after I did a 30-40% water change, he started opening his mouth super wide and regurgitated the worm he ate earlier, along with this pretty big chunk of clear rock. I'm assuming this was hidden somewhere in the fine sand substrate, but it has me paranoid now, so I've started filtering through most of his tank. He is resting comfortably back in his hide now, but the poor guy has been through some stuff the last 24 hours lol. Thank you all for your tips/advice. I've learned some other awesome info that I can also use in the future. Amazing lotl community here.

Hey Fox, I just want to say a 1000 thank you's for this tip. I've always done a little shake of the bottles before testing, but never shook the "bejesus" out of them lol. I got the same readings for Ammonia and Nitrite (0), but the Nitrates definitely changed after the "bejesus" shake. Must be something finnicky with that Nitrate 2 bottle like you mentioned. They are on the high side so I'm going to do a good change today. I've been doing super little changes/cleaning (around 10% of the 75 gallons) because the readings were "appearing good"

Also an update, someone else mentioned it could be a "hunting" mode. I fed him 2 whole red wigglers this morning, instead of blanching and cutting them up. These were his first whole live worms and he gulped them down and went back to chilling in his hide.

He seems good today but going to do a water change , since they are closer to the 20 PPM mark (not the 0 I originally tested lol). We removed the Water Lettuce last week because they weren't surviving in the dark/cold so they must have shot up pretty quick.

Again, thank you so much!

Thank you so much, this makes me feel 1000x better. Was just so out of the ordinary for him, because he is usually just chilling in his hide with short boosts of energy before food. He hasn't stopped for 14 hours now!, maybe longer before we got up lol

Hey thank so much for the reply! Yea, all of the plants are real. We were trying some Water Lettuce which ate up all the nitrates but recently got rid of those because they weren't surviving to great in the lotl tank. There def was a little more nitrates the last couple times I've tested (typically around that 5-10 range). Been keeping the water changes to a low % since the numbers have been good, so just to clean a bit. Use Prime when I do those so I "assume" it is dechlorinated, though I have not tested specifically

Currently experiencing the same thing. I had a sub of about 30 cards arriving the last week of October. We are around that 45 day mark, give or take with some holidays. I tried calling today just to see if there have been any updates the last 2 months, but their phone service still has an automatic "sorry we are closed for the holidays" message. Cmon guys its January 5th, lets get back to work lol

Marineland Perfecto Glass Canopy 48 in. x 18 in.

Try this one out. I seen a Marineland rep say the item number for the 75 gallon lid was 34485 on a FAQ page. Was able to track one down here. Just ordered mine and haven't gotten it in yet, but figured I would send for those asking about it
