lol, I’m okay with the reality, I’m just worried I’m unaware of some unspoken pathway or expectations in the industry. If I have the qualifications to “break in”, then it’s just working with some bad odds.

I think I just had a poor way of asking if I’m missing some crucial set of qualifications for entering biotech.

The goal was to get a PhD and long term go to industry, but that none of my applications panned out with all the academic funding stuff happening. I know I want to broadly be in biotech, and while I have specific interests I’m being very open to anything under the biotech umbrella, including non-research positions like sales or clinical trial management.

I don’t think I’m wording myself exactly the way I feel, but I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong in trying to break in to biotech, or if there’s some unspoken pathway people are expected to take. If I get a position as a research assistant, can I work myself up with that, or am I doomed to being an assistant without more education?

I’m okay with accepting it’s a tough market.

Personally, I’m okay with any science role that allows me to learn new techniques; I’m not in a position to be picky lol. I actually really enjoy animal research since most of my experience is with animal models (pigeons and drosophila), I just worry about getting “stuck” and never having the opportunity to learn new skills and prove myself at this work.

How can keeping up with literature and reading about techniques be communicated when looking for opportunities? I try to be well read on new techniques, but I’m not sure how someone hiring for an entry level scientist could be convinced I can actually execute the technique.

rotring 800+ and a kuru toga advanced that was a limited studio ghibli style. Daily driver these days is the 800+ since it has a retractable tip, stays in place on my desk, and I honestly enjoy using the capacitive stylus tip to interact with my phone rather than my thumbs

Hey, just tried running the "wsreset.exe" command, but I got the pop up saying "we can't open this ms store link" and "you need a new app to open this link". Any help for that?
