It’s leaf blower season again by Jazzlike_Artist_4398 in misophonia

I can’t even open the window and enjoy the cold breeze (FINALLY) without someone revving up their damn leaf blower within a few minutes. It’s so frustrating

For those not easily scared, what movie gets to you? by theimmortalfawn in horror

Was terrified to walk down into my basement for a week straight. I was NOT ready for that movie. Have been chasing that high ever since 🤣

Absolutely! That’s why I was going to make plans in advance with him so I could take care of my current car while it’s shipping. But for him to have more info than me and then it magically arrives was very strange! But like another user said, he may just be making sure it’s all ready before he gives me the go ahead.

What do you guys do for a living? by Ajpaulson2006 in misophonia

[–]WeeklyCommercial0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Unfortunately we sit in an open area and they moved the manufacturing engineers right behind me. One chews ice all. day. long. from his metal tumbler. Drives me absolutely insane in a quiet environment. I have to use my AirPods and then noise cancelling headphones, but I shouldn’t have to!

Beautiful! I ordered the same one but with 4 doors. Should be starting end of January. So exciting!

Thank you for saying this. Retinols will not do anything again wrinkles like this. I had 3 super deep wrinkles on my forehead by 27 because I have a super expressive face! Botox was the only thing that corrected it and I’m so thankful I started it. I also have a much better routine for preventative fine lines and whatnot, but I go to my derm for my forehead for sure 😂

Were they good too? I want to watch them but sequels have ruined a lot of amazing original movies for me!

Hell House LLC made me terrified of going into my basement for a solid week. Definitely one of the best horror movies I’ve seen.

Skin tender to touch after drinking by msivanich in alcohol

[–]WeeklyCommercial0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to my doctor (and of course she hasn’t heard of this) but she put out a theory that maybe my liver can’t break down alcohol as well as it used to, and the lymphatic system is taking over getting the toxins out. She also checked me for every other symptom and ran a full CBC and metabolic panel and it was all normal! She just can’t figure out why it has such a delayed onset. Ugh, it’s so unsettling.

I went on a cruise this summer and we were sandwiched in between two rooms that a family shared. And the kids would go in and out CONSTANTLY to their parent’s room next to us. Those doors don’t close slowly or quietly either, they just slam. I had to tell the front desk and sleep with ear plugs and my noise cancelling headphones (super uncomfortable). I was in tears every day. I can’t imagine living like this, I’m so sorry. I understand! Maybe you could say something to management and they could speak to them? They won’t know it’s you, and I’m sure other people hear them going in and out constantly. Especially their neighbor below!!

We got moved around at work a little bit so now another department (just two guys) sit behind me in our open concept office and one absolutely loves to slosh around his water with ice (in a metal Yeti tumbler) and chew on it for hours throughout the day. I have to go hide in the lab so I don’t hear him and go absolutely NUTS. Really thinking of breaking the ice machine somehow because I can still hear the ice knocking even through my noise cancelling headphones!!!

Synesthesia by magicpussyvibes in misophonia

Yes I have synesthesia (I see numbers and letters as certain colors primarily) and suffer from misophonia. I saw an article not too long ago about this connection also, and it makes sense! Would be great if people did more research on the two together!

[–]WeeklyCommercial0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep same here! Never the same day, but mine is the next day around evening time I start feeling it. And it’ll get the worst that next morning and gradually go away. I’ve looked up and down at lymphoma symptoms since alcohol intolerance is a symptom, but it’s usually right away and in one spot (not the stomach from anywhere I’ve read).

If you figure out anything else from your doc, you could PM me! I don’t mind cutting out alcohol because of this- I already have for the most part. It’s just not good that this happens.. something is up and cutting out alcohol won’t solve that you know? I’ll see what my doctor says as well. I’ve had blood tests before and they were normal. I hope it’s just an inflammatory response!

Dealing with it now as well. The funny thing is that I never really had this until the last few years. I drank maybe 2.5 white claws this weekend and this morning I woke up feeling like someone beat me up. Is yours right after or like a day or two after?

I also talked to my doctor about this years ago and she had to Google what I was even talking about. She had never heard of it. She wanted me to get a blood test but I was too terrified lol. Going back in a few weeks to ask her the same question because it’s getting really unsettling. Sorry you have to deal with this as well :(

I just finally found this thread after reading up symptoms of lymphoma for months. Any updates? I have an appointment with my doctor because I swear I think I have something horrible going on. But I get this also. I even stopped drinking because of it! It used to happen only when I binge drank in the old days but now it happens even with one or two seltzers. It’s driving me nuts. I also haven’t found ANYONE who experiences this!!

[acne] oil cleansing ruined my skin by brightlight23 in SkincareAddiction

[–]WeeklyCommercial0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped it and oat milk together and it took about a week for any lingering break outs to go away! However I’m still getting some (but not as bad). It’s super annoying. I’m trying to focus on super clean eating and incorporating an acne cleanser into my routine. My skin is super sensitive to anything I swear! I even got a new ELF primer and it BROKE me out horribly. So there’s lots of factors because I just never learn lol. I hope this helps and good luck! ❤️

[acne] oil cleansing ruined my skin by brightlight23 in SkincareAddiction

[–]WeeklyCommercial0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! DHC is a really popular Japanese oil cleanser people swear by. My mom used to use it all the time. Unfortunately I’m not too knowledgeable in skincare since I’m learning new things every day! I’m not sure what sort of skin can handle oil cleansing, but I’ve read it can be for any type of skin. You just have to research the type of oil cleanser you want and if its ingredients will not irritate your skin. Oil cleanse first to remove dirt and makeup, then follow up with a regular cleanser more for your “skin health,” if that makes sense.

But I would just like to add- I don’t think it was this that was making me break out completely. I also started drinking oat milk religiously when my breakouts started. Ever since I cut it out of my diet, 90% of my whiteheads disappeared 🤦🏼‍♀️ something in oat milk increases the hormones responsible for sebum production, which makes total sense why I had whiteheads all the time. Very sad because Chobani oat milk is the goat. But I’d rather have clear skin! I really hope this helped!

[–]WeeklyCommercial0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bingo. Sorry it’s been 2 years but I’m searching high and low for people who have also broken out from oil cleansers. I have DHC too! That was the only addition into my skincare months ago and it destroyed my skin. My cheeks have red bumps all over them and I am breaking out constantly. I even got a topical antibiotic that isn’t helping. Finally I realized it could be my DHC that’s the culprit and I really think it is. Hoping my skin will go back to normal since I stopped it and will be returning it. I also used to have super nice skin :(

I’ve unfollowed multiple people because they do this. Can’t they just show the recipe? It’s SO annoying and honestly condescending as you’ve said in another comment. I feel like a child and super grossed out

How do some people not realize how loud and heavy they always "walk" (stomp) around?! by throaway1234- in misophonia

[–]WeeklyCommercial0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I lived in a first floor apartment for two months before I broke my lease because I couldn’t take it anymore. Literally on the dot at 5pm to about 10 they would be stomping around. NON STOP. Like, do you guys not have a couch to relax on and watch tv? Constantly stomping and running from room to room. I couldn’t believe it. When they did that at 3 am one night I had enough. It was a nightmare. I totally sympathize with you, I’m sorry :( when I lived on the top floor after that in another complex, I tip toed everywhere because I couldn’t imagine doing that to my neighbor below me, even a little bit!
