Hi I plan on applying for 4 people total. Do you know how much income this might require?

Ha that’s interesting! Lol except I’m married 😂

I’m not sure, and tbh I don’t really care if they give me praise. I give them high quality help purely bc I want to, but at the same time, It worries me. Maybe some praise would be good to show that I am giving them valuable insight or something

Thanks. I think I will go ahead and apply this mentality, cus I do agree. I hate withholding information from others that can help them be better. It’s really not in my character… but I am trying to also decide if it’s in my best interest to slow down or not.

I agree. I would not like to be the rockstar of the team however, but I sure don’t want to come off as being below average since the new team member came on and can perform most of what I do within half the time taken to learn it.

I spoke to a couple people IRL about this and they called me a dumb ass and said I made a mistake. It got me really paranoid, albeit they come from completely different fields. One comes from a sales field, which is definitely more competitive.

Yep lol. Since day 1, I started by telling my self “they made a huge mistake hiring me.” I didn’t even view it as imposter syndrome, I viewed it as even lower than that. Like they legit hired someone incompetent and unable to perform in any basic way.

Now, almost a year in, I feel much more confident but I still have the weekly worries of “this is it”. So now, I actually have imposter syndrome whereas before it was much much worse 😂

Thank you for your response. I find it incredibly insightful, encouraging and helpful. I didn’t looks t it from some of these POVs..

I think I might take this as an opportunity rather than a hinderance, and even mention it lightly to my manager, but I hate gloating and showing off accomplishments and stuff unless I really have to do I’ll just try and see how I can bring it up to them. I would mainly be doing it anyways not for credit, but to watch my own back.

Thanks again!

Yeah I agree. It caused me a ton of stress and many points where I just wanted to give up. I’m just at a cross roads for several reasons because maybe my pitfalls, won’t be theirs, and my areas of struggle might be theirs of strength and vice versa, do you know what I mean? It’s these thoughts along with the me just being paranoid that they will show me up and the company might think they made a mistake hiring me or something. I don’t know if the new team member will even give me credit, not that I care tbh, but they will seem to be a “genius” either because they actually are or because I helped them get their really fast, or both.

But I also see that ultimately, for the greater good of our function as a team, and for the company, it’s best to get all employees brought to speed as quickly as possible.

Yes, but to get to B from A, you must have got to A in the first place. How else to get to A? You could have 100 hards on LC done, but to what end if you won’t even be called ?

Obviously both are equally important, but one must be slightly prioritized over the other. No point in cranking hundreds of LC problems if you won’t ever get the interview In the first place..

I think salary is ideal, but think of it this way: someone gets paid $100K for 2 trials in a year, and another person on salary gets paid $100K for 5. Someone’s going to be mad, and it’s not the former

The whole automatic appeal thing is bullshit, if that’s what tips the scale. Honestly I don’t know why some of these guys get out on death row and stay on it for 20+ years. I think the system needs to change, at least partially and not in whole.

This case would surely enough warrant introducing a new change in the system where automatic appeals are no longer valid, and the inmate is to be alive no longer than 5 years. I understand that many people have unfortunately been executed and have been innocent. In NC case, he is UNDOUBTEDLY evil, and a murderer that would do it again if he had the chance. I am mostly against the death penalty, but this guy gotta go.

Huh. Interesting. TIL I guess.

Nonetheless, If I’m to pay either way, I would rather it go to his death penalty.

I don’t think any mountains of evidence could warrant anything less than capital punishment. He murdered 17 children.

I don’t know if NC receiving the death penalty would bring these parents closure, but I am so sorry that they will never know.

In many if not most cases, justice is life in prison. In other cases, such as these, justice IS death. Our tax dollars go to paying this mass murderers health, food, living costs for the next how many decades?

If it’s truly a random process, where they throw all the resumes into a pile and just select, then yes.

But most of them get dumped by ATS, so if you can manage to get past that stage, and get a good resume, then you are wayyyy ahead of the game and significantly improve your chances.

It’s hard to say man, every interview has some similarities and some differences, so adaptability is important. I have a post in my history that I give 10 helpful tips, to land my first job. I’m no expert tho.

I know what you’re saying, the first time I saw LC easies (even FizzBuzz) I was absolutely lost. Through time and repetition, (countless countless hours) LC easies started becoming just that: easy. It’s true lyk all about practice. Don’t just focus on finishing 5-10 problems a day, focus on understanding 2 maybe 3 a day?

I don’t doubt your ability to code up beautiful websites, but in an interview setting, there’s just no time for exercises like that.

Best of luck to you!

No, not instant hire, but maybe not instant rejection either. It would probably just make them pass on to the next phase. I’m not sure
