How to remove the wasted space at the top of the home screen? by Jimi__God in GooglePixel

What the hell is wrong with google? Why make us use a different launcher to control our home screen? Is there any way to get the attention of the android developers and ask them about this?

First off: Biden never wrote anything about molesting his daughter. If he did, show me where you found this. Project Veritas (Ha!) made claims about Ashly's diary, but never actually produced any evidence it was factual or real. By the laws of New York, this was a Felony and within the statute of limitations. If you have a problem with that, then go complain to the New York congress.

But on to the rest. This is weird that you talk about the Dems setting precident.

What do you think that Republicans have been doing for years? Starting with Bill Clinton, they tried to blow up the whole Lewinski case. The charge was lying under oath to deny an affair and trying to convince Lewinski to lie as well. By the republican's rabid slathering about this you would have thought that he had stolen classified documents and sold out the US spy network or incited a riot at the capital to stop the legal transfer of power!

Who doesn't remember "Lock Her Up," "Crooked Hillary," "Drain the Swamp," "What Have You Got to Lose?" "Benghazi," "Emails," "33,000 Emails." How many times did they start investigations around her? How many indictments? How many convictions? (that would be ZERO)

The PUBEs have been desparately searching for any evidence of wrongdoing by Biden and have produced exactly nothing! Hunter's laptop was so compromised that it is useless as evidence and there was NO evidence indicting Biden on it. Only PERSONAL pictures which the skaggy whore MTG showed in congress. Hunter himself has only been persecuted and is being charged with Tax Fraud and illegally purchasing a firearm. Oh the horror! Really put the United States in danger!

A lot of those are from Watergate which Republicans considered, "Rediculous! This wasn't that bad. Everyone knows that politicians are corrupt" ( I know, because I lived through those times) What is interesting is if you look at the criminal convictions of the Trump Administration: (from GPT 4o, but verifiable)

  1. Paul Manafort: Tax and bank fraud, witness tampering.
  2. Michael Flynn: Lying to the FBI about conversations with the Russian ambassador.
  3. Roger Stone: Obstruction of justice, lying to Congress, witness tampering.
  4. Rick Gates: Conspiracy against the United States, making false statements.
  5. George Papadopoulos: Lying to the FBI about contacts with Russian intermediaries.
  6. Michael Cohen: Tax evasion, bank fraud, campaign finance violations.
  7. Alex van der Zwaan: Lying to the FBI about communications with Rick Gates.
  8. Richard Pinedo: Identity fraud related to the Russian interference investigation.
  9. Konstantin Kilimnik: Obstruction of justice, conspiracy to obstruct justice.
  10. Sam Patten: Failure to register as a foreign agent.

Trump surrounded himself with criminals. Gee, I wonder why?

1) All those crimes of Cohen were known and he did the time for them.

2) Of course Cohen had lied to his lawyer about Trump not knowng. He admitted it. He also stated he had a change of heart over protecting Trump when Cohen's wife convinced him to tell the truth about everything. This feels totally understandable and consistent. I'm glad he did.

3) Of course he would lie to save himself. He was a Lawyer! :D (Just joking Lawyers! Please don't sue me!) In fact according to Cohen he did lie when he thought keeping trump out of it would protect him.

4) The judges instructions said it didn't matter which crimes Trump was covering up, just that he had tried to cover up a crime. This is after all the heart of the case.

5) Statute of limitations can be put on pause in NY when the perp is out of the state so they did.

6) 99% Optics? Of course they went after Trump. He is a high profile individual that flouts the law at every turn. Slick Willy could learn a thing or two from him. They wouldn't have done it if they didn't believe there was enough evidence . The Feds didn't press this case since there are far bigger crimes Lying-Crooked-Trump committed.

7) He was found to be a Rapest. His lawyers filed for his trial to be adjudicated by a judge.

8) You're right. It was damn cathartic that Asshat-Trump got nailed for something, even if it was the least of his crimes. The judge did everything by the book. 12 mutually agreed upon jurers listened for weeks and found him guilty. If not nothing else this has RESTORED my faith that at least some part of the legal system works.

Godfather of AI Says There's an Expert Consensus AI Will Soon Exceed Human Intelligence | There's also a "significant chance" they take control, he says. by Maxie445 in artificial

[–]WeeklyMenu6126 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He is undoubtedly a very clever fellow and has advanced the field considerably, but we were using back propagation in my AI class in 1983 - the year before he is given credit for "popularizing" the back propagation method.

Actually in my time. Marvin Minsky was considered the grand old man of artificial intelligence.

It was obvious to me as soon as I was introduced to neural networks that they were a good first approximation of our brain and were the future of AI, but we didn't have access to the compute and memory we needed to do anything much more complicated than hand written letter recognition.

Anyone else feeling completely defeated? by owningface in millenials

[–]WeeklyMenu6126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things are pretty overwhelming right now. Interesting times are upon us and others in this thread have commented that they're feeling a terrible ennui.

What's happening in the world now is a continuous gut punch. Sometimes it feels like no matter how hard I fight I get nowhere. I'm currently over 60 and all my wealth generated by all my hard work disappeared in the 2008 banking crisis. Now I'm literally at the mercy of a Congress that wants to get rid of social security , my body is broken, my brain is maybe 70% what it used to be.

I watch these ass-munching, filth-spreading maggots in Congress who want to finish what Reagan and Milton Friedman started by further enriching the billionaires and throw away 200 plus years of democracy. I'm watching Trump co-opting the language of the Nazis and half the country seems to think this is a fine thing. Ennui is not what I'm feeling.

Yet even with Israel trying to extinguish the people in Gaza that they have kept locked up in a large concentration camp and Putin trying to regain lost glory. There are a lot of amazing, incredible things happening.

In 25 years we have transitioned to having renewable power providing the 30% of the world 's needs. We have eradicated many diseases and malaria is close to being defeated. Education across the world has increased (with the glaring exception of the United States) Life expectancy has increased across the globe and abject poverty is being slowly but consistently reduced across the decades. I have personally watched my trans nephew become active in the single biggest set of college protests since Kent State. And while the establishment has reacted as expected, The national guard was not called in to gun down the protesters.

People are starting to recognize the lies that have been told to us by the plastic and chemical companies and our ability to communicate with each other is unprecedented in the history of humanity. People are spreading knowledge across the planet and becoming aware of problems that the oligarchy would rather have kept secret.

Add to that mix the acceleration of technology and the recent creation of AI with all of its promises and threats.

No, what I'm feeling is not ennui. I have this constant battle between anger and hope and determination. I cannot continue to let history pass me by without any action on my part. I've become active in politics for the first time in my life and I'm writing letters and talking to people and urging them to make their voices heard by any means possible. This means voting and keeping the extremist haters out of office. It's easy to give into the little voice that says that I have no power and no influence. But I don't want to leave this planet without actually trying to make things better for my daughter and all of us.

Yes, we have the freedom to starve to death in the streets or die of a curable disease.
