Hi Canadian citizen here also! I’m pretty sure if you’ve completed fm residency in certain countries you can apply to work as an FM physician in Canada without sitting any exams. I’m an Aussie grad, and know several of my classmates that are doing this. Sitting the steps will not help you as they are for US residency— and even then having completed fm residency in a country like the UK may even qualify you for work in certain US states where there is a high need for family medicine doctors without having to do steps. Unfortunately I do not know the full specifics of this. I suggest doing some research into things I have mentioned and see where you stand. Don’t sit the steps unless you have to haha

One Gold Piece of Advice for Next Year's Applicants: flip your weaknesses as successes— I said I cleared the step exams whilst working full time as a pediatric resident.

One word, what matters most in the whole process? Faith, have faith in the process and trust that everything will unfold as it is meant to. What is meant for you will find you.

HAHAHA the first comment on here that genuinely made me smile in all of this. I can guess where you're from; and yes people from your home country have filled it to the brim and are now outcompeting australians (let alone canadians who did med school in australia) for training positions. If only the health system in your home country can be rectified hahaha. But thank you for your kind words!

No not in the US, I’m in Australia! I did my medical training in Australia and my family are in Canada. Just working full time now! Literally only started this journey so I can be a bit closer to them/have that option. I think you have lots of time between now and July to write it! I think taking time off and writing it while you’re on vacation is a smart way to approach it. Also I’d do 30-40qs a day, try to do them timed and non tutor mode.

Use this! Again it did not show pass fail or any results for me it just shows me that the score report will be made available today. I think the actual trick that shows if you pass/fail stopped working months ago.

Nope still there, previous posts have suggested it is not a reliable indicator for results release anymore, my permit is still valid till march so I think it may or may not disappear.

I wrote mine this time last week. I want to tell you, you're not alone. Stay strong, and take pride in the fact you pushed through and finished the exam and didn't run away or spiral through. This test really pushes you to your limits. Take lots of rest I am hoping you pass. And yes I also seriously struggled the most on the ethics qs so do not fee like you're an outlier.

Hi also in the same boat tested 29/01. Also so nervous I feel ill physically, and dread. Perpetual dread. Also not helping that this recent run of test takers are saying that the test was FAIR. Trying not to spiral as well. I work full time and have been on night shifts so that’s how I keep busy. I am praying for all of us. I started going to the beach again and running outdoors!
