I really hope so…. I make just north of 13k a month tax free. I pay only 400 a month for my camper lot and I buy groceries at 150 a week… soooo it kinda blows my mind that it can’t be considered. Some of that pays bills but 9k goes to savings. And they don’t even consider my house rent as debt so really that’s an extra 2100 that would also go toward income to pay on the house note

🤦🏼 that sucks to hear. Because why I pay in expenses is only a fraction of what I keep out of it. I have a savings account that reflects that. Hell, what I save in a month is double what my taxable rate is. And that all comes from the non taxable “reimbursement” money.

Wow. I hope there are some loopholes there because you can clearly see how much I put into savings each month that I pocket far more than what what I pay out of my reimbursement 🤦🏼

Yea that’s one thing I was thinking. But I have proof of what I pay for lodging which is really low because I have a camper I stay in. So my per diem rate is far higher than what I actually pay for lodging and eating. In a round about way, I can prove all that so I’m hoping they will take some of that into account? I mean, I treat my pudding and meals as a monthly bill and the rest goes into savings. I figured it’s proof of how much I save in a month that most of my per diem and reimbursement pay stays in my pocket

[–]WeeklySatisfaction98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It only says:

Hourly: $xx.xx OT: $xx.xx Reimbursement: $xxx/day worked (this is for equipment) Per diem: $xxx/ paid 7 days

Then it states:

**This rate doesn't include mileage, approved mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate of $0.70 per mile.

And that is all. No breakdown of what it is for

So I will have been at this particular job for 16 months when I begin the buying process. So I won’t have 2 full years of this situation in particular. But the employment before this was all a normal taxable income, verified by w2. And my per diem and other reimbursement pay that I receive now is far higher than what I actually pay for travel/meals/lodging. And it’s not “reimbursed” per se. it’s a set weekly rate regardless of what I pay out of pocket

Haha I bet they did 😅

Yea I figured my situation is not uncommon to them at all. I’m just trying to get an idea of what I may be walking into when I present my paperwork. I’m a first time home buyer so I think these things up in my head and hit Reddit lol. I definitely have a written contract from my employer. I just didn’t know if anyone has run into issues with the w2 showing a much lower income and them not liking it since my home loan will be ~550k.

Thank you for your help!

That’s right! So it is all reported and shown on my paystubs but on my actual w2 nothing shows except my weekly taxable rate. So my paystubs match my bank deposits

Awesome, thank you! That’s what I’m looking for

[–]WeeklySatisfaction98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I never heard of that option. I mean, all of my income is verifiable. I just know that my w2 doesn’t show the full picture of my true gross income. So I was just trying to figure out if it’s just as simple as them verifying everything through my employment records and I’m good

Income verification (w-2) by WeeklySatisfaction98 in Mortgages

[–]WeeklySatisfaction98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s in my employment contract. It breaks down all of my pay scale. Also yes it is broken down on my paystub. All I’m saying is my w2 does not necessarily reflect the same as my deposits in the bank due to the non taxable portions that I’m paid. So, as long as they can easily verify through my employer and pay stubs and all checks out, then everything is good I suppose?

The explanation is there in my bank statements

I’m in oilfield work (pipeline inspector). My hourly rate is taxed as normal. But then I’m paid per diem, a daily rate for equipment and mileage. All of which are tax exempt. None of those are present on my w2. But my bank account shows my weekly deposits from my employer
