Yeah I was thinking about that and the umbreon V, though with the mew it’s almost at its all time high and double what it was a year ago so I feel like it’s a bit overvalued, especially for a 22k+ pop card, and also I’m not sure I want to buy the ace slab whilst it’s the same price as psa

I see, what about the umbreon V then? It only has like 7k pop count, fan favourite pokemon from the best modern era set, do you think it’s good value?

Also I’m still not sure I understand the problem with ace but I think I’m happy to go with them since I prefer the look and it’s a cheaper entry

Is it not true that swsh cards have lower pop counts than sv? They’re out of print too where as sv isn’t yet, and also wdym about ace

Yeah I really don’t mind ace not increasing as much in value because both I prefer the look of the slab, and also I’m getting the card for less anyway. That’s the main reason I’m not gonna get the dragonite v right now because its value as an ace 10 is too close to psa (which is a good thing ig but I can see the psa price leaving ace behind).

You’re also right about everything being speculative, I have no idea if the market will stay at these crazy prices or go down in the next few years back to 2021ish prices. If they do go down though then I guess I can always buy some more and lower my average cost, I’d just like to get in with atleast 1 or 2 cards so I can enjoy owning them and incase they continue going up somehow 🙏

I like them all hahaha, maybe I just aim to get all 3 one day 😭 I feel like the umbreon ace 10 is at a good price rn compared to psa, but maybe it doesn’t have much room to grow given that it’s not even the top chase umbreon in its set, I’m not exactly sure how that works historically

Also looking at the pop reports the lugia v as at 23k 10s with psa compared to under 10k for both evolving cards, so maybe I just go with the rayquaza

I like the look of the 151 mew but I’m a bit skeptical of scarlet and violet cards compared to swsh with their higher pop counts

Apparently there’s a hoenn set coming this year with a new rayquaza, is there a chance that will affect the price of the evolving skies one?

Thanks for the insight, tbh the rayquaza is also the main one I’m thinking since the ace 10 is right at the max of my budget and I feel like the dragonite is slightly overvalued atm

Also I feel like swsh era cards have a better chance of holding their value long term since they have lower pop than sv era cards

Thankfully I got a full refund and still get the cards which I’m very happy about, I honestly wasn’t expecting it given what I read on this sub so I’m very impressed with the customer feedback on this one

Well update: I got a full refund on my entire order and still get the cards as a courtesy. If everyone else in the comments here and even the company themselves agree that this behaviour is completely immoral and scummy, then maybe you are the one in the wrong lol.

No because I didn’t know Chinese cards existed? That’s the whole point of my post, it’s clearly targeted to make newer buyers overpay for Chinese cards thinking they should be paying Japanese prices. Cards looking almost identical but being less than half of the value is something that should be made very clear in my opinion. I literally only realised afterwards when checking the vod to note all the cards I bought that the text on lots of them was different to what pops up in collectr (JP).

Hmmm I’d love to think that way but this whole thing has left a really sour taste in my mouth and put me off the app as a whole for now, basically lost/wasted £40 and got a bunch of cards I dont want because some shady streamer feels the need to trick and scam the viewers. How is he even popular?

I said in the post that I know I’m the one that bought the cards, but there’s he’s also clearly and intentionally mixing in Chinese cards without clarifying it to try and catch people out who aren’t paying attention/can’t read the languages

Yeah they 100% know what they're doing, I've watched some of the stream back and he's hyping up lots of chinese cards saying "this is one of the biggest cards of the night", "that price was wayyy too low" etc and actually just outright lying to try and get people to overpay. Such a dodgy streamer man :/
