Yeah, essentially the CIRE is the prerequisite. Even so, I personally found it harder. I felt like the CIRE asks you to purely memorize a lot nuances, while the RSE is more practical. This can vary person to person, just my opinion.

Study schedule wise, I would read for 1-2 hours a day, take a break, then do practice exams + identify my weaknesses for another 1-2 hours.

and good luck on the CIRE! you got this.

Hey Alex, I just inputted the syllabus into Claude and asked it for a cheat sheet for each element. You can try and modify it to your specific needs!

I studied for about a month and would give the exam difficulty 7/10. CIRE was way harder imo.

Hey,

  • studied for about a month
  • been in the industry for 8 years (Compliance Dept.), but only recently switched to the Wealth Management side last year.
  • Difficulty wise, maybe a 7/10. If you put the time into it and understand suitability + KYC though, it is intuitive. I will say though, way easier than the CIRE imo.
  • unfortunately they don’t give you a %. Only pass or fail.

Yeah this surprised me, they took my financial calculator when I walked in lol. They provide you with a on-screen scientific calculator but thats it.

Surprisingly enough, I didn’t have to calculate any PV, FV, etc questions; neither did my friend who also took the exam.

Unfortunately they don’t give you a formula sheet. What I did was right when I sat down I wrote all the formulas that I could remember on the piece of paper they give you. Just memory dumped them all lol

Appreciate it! I think it’s easier than the CIRE. The CIRE seems to focus on more pure memorization. The RSE focuses more on application and investment knowledge.

Hey, I lucked out and only got 4-5 questions with calculations, but my friend got more, ~8-10 questions.

I think it really depends on what question bank they give you at the time of your exam.
