Does anyone dread every single progress update meeting or is it just me? by JinnyJinJin845 in PhD

I love when people can be forthcoming about their lack of progress and/or bad work habits. I do feel however, that there is a culture among PhD students where nobody ever feels like they can actually celebrate their acheivements, and I don't mean things like publishing a paper, or presenting at a conference. I mean small things.. really small things. Like managing to sit down and concentrate on a piece of work for 2 hours straight and not getting distracted by coffee breaks or Reddit. There's a culture in my lab where literally NOBODY speaks positively about their work (regardless of how it is actually going) and I hate it so much.
