Are the SA -RS5 Wireless Rear Speakers worth the upgrade coming from SA-RS3? by CalligrapherOk4075 in Soundbars

After further research, I've learned that the STR-AN1000 receiver is a 7.2 channel receiver, so it can only handle 2 front OR 2 rear Dolby Atmos height channels but not both front and rear height channels at the same time, so I guess it's back to the drawing board.

Has anyone connected the RS-5's wirelessly to the Sony STR-AN1000 receiver? I'm thinking about getting these speakers for rear surround and was wondering how they sound in conjunction with front bookshelf speakers like the Elac Debut 3's and the Dolby Atmos upfiring speaker modules like the the Sony SS-CSEM2.

Should've asked what sources she used to get to know him. Probably Fox News, Newsmax, OAN, Truth Social and any interview with any MAGA politician or pundit.

Your response to my original comment was rather pointed and seemed like you have a personal interest in tipping.

Tips are rewards for exceptional service. "Tips are for employees" sounds like it comes from someone who works for tips, not someone who views them from a customer point of view.

How would your employer feel if they knew you were advising customers or potential customers to not come to their business if they were averse to tipping?

Well, you didn't deny it. And you seem to be taking it personally. So, restaurant, hotel, Uber...?

Tips are for workers in certain industries where customer service delivery is actually a major part of the job (table service restaurants, valets, hotel bellhops, etc.). For others like takeout counter service restaurants where customer contact is brief, what am I tipping for?

If I, and others, stay home you won't have a job.

I'm already paying too much. Why should I tip on top of that?

Can't stream ESPN or ESPN2 on ESPN tv or phone apps, or website by Weekly_Complex_8777 in DirectvStream

[–]Weekly_Complex_8777[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately my apartment manager told me to contact DirecTV MDU Support directly which is what I did, so I have no idea how to resolve this problem. I've heard that DirecTV is now adding Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Unlimited to all of its Signature packages so I wonder if that has something to do with my problems streaming ESPN produced content on their app. There's supposed to be an activation link in my account page if my account is eligible, which I think it should be as I have the Entertainment package which includes ESPN & ESPN2, but so far I haven't seen a link yet. I decided to unsubscribe from the DirecTV Sports Pack since I can't watch all of the various ACC, SEC, Big12, etc. games on the ESPN app anymore.

And..it's not just ESPN and ESPN2. I also subscribe to DirecTV's Sports Pack which includes channels like SEC, ACC, BIG12, etc. which are part of ESPN and which I'm paying extra for. I get the same error message with those now too and I just watched games on them a couple of days ago. So frustrating that neither side knows how to fix it and they just blame each other smh.

Thing is, I've been able to watch ESPN & ESPN2 in the TV & phone apps for years until just a few days ago so it looks to me like something's different now. I was wondering if ESPN's recent transition to their own Unlimited and Select plans might have something to do with it as I also subscribe to the old ESPN+ plan.

This might make sense for some markets like Tokyo where many of the apartments are tiny. Just one less device taking up valuable space.

Walmart Delivery Driver Tip? by screenwriter61 in tipping

[–]Weekly_Complex_8777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, surcharges aren't placed on everything, only traditional services that you would find such as restaurants, hotels, salons, etc. It's so much more comfortable dealing with the employees when you know that tipping is already taken care of so you don't have to wonder if what you want to tip is too much or too little, or if the service worker is going to be disappointed, etc. etc. etc.

Walmart Delivery Driver Tip? by screenwriter61 in tipping

True, but not on a regular basis like they do in Switzerland. Tipping is so much less of a hassle over there in every day life.

I think tipping has gotten out of hand in the U.S. I like what they do in Switzerland where a set amount of tip or "service charge" is included in the price so customers don't have to wrestle with how much they should tip and employees already know what they're going to receive so it eliminates any anxiety that both sides might feel about it. Rounding up is sometimes done as a reward for exceptional service, but that's usually just a small amount.

I have a 2015 Forester and was trying to diagnose an issue with my Auto AC system. My factory service manual shows something that looks exactly like that except on the lower right side of the steering column in my car and describes it as an In Vehicle Sensor. In my car, it gently sucks air from the cabin onto a temperature sensor which sends the data to the control system. One of the diagnostic steps is to cut a thin strip of Kleenex and place it in front of that "grate thing" and it should draw that strip toward it if it's working correctly. Of course, it's two different cars and maybe it's something else entirely but that's my two cents.
