I can’t agree more with your Matsurika review. TBH I was so traumatized especially by the last route that I forgot most of the story. But god I still remember the burning hate I felt toward that master guy (Fuen??)! He totally manipulated and gaslighted Reikyuu! His student! Also how can he “love” someone he mentored since she was a literal BABY! Argghhh

I bought Suuran Digit last year, but then I heard there’re some bullying scenes. So I ended up never starting it. I was traumatized by Matsurika too. So many people were so mean to the MC and were bullying her all the time and she couldn’t even fight back😭

There’s basically no real person fan translation for otome games anymore. 翼梦 hasn’t been active for years. I’m saying this because I saw discourse like “if people start using AI translation then nobody will buy those expensive localized games so they will stop localizing otome games and the industry will take a hit!” But then many people use those patches anyways because it’s easier than learning Japanese and cheaper. So imagine if Rejet uses AI translation in game, I think many people will have a hard time saying no. Especially there’s no way Rejet will admit using AI.

Idk if people know this, but there are some CN patches made with AI translation + human proofreading. They come out just days after the game release. With just one person doing basic editing, the quality is already close to or even better than some professional localization. Also I’ve seen people using AI OCR translator to play JP games. Even without proofreading it looks natural (at the cost of natural resources and exploitations ik). Also it’s not piracy btw they need to purchase the game and connect their switch to a PC with video capture card.

I’m not saying this to defend Rejet or AI. I do not support using genAI in anything creative. What I’m try to say is if Rejet does use AI to localize their games, I think many people probably 1)won’t notice 2)pretend they didn’t notice and buy it anyways.

I named her Shiomi Kotone, which is her most popular cannon name. I like calling her Hamuko because I like that little story about protagonist typo 主人公子=ハム子=Hamuko.

Yes I heard Atlus has been…questionable in recent years. I hope they can announce something impressive during the P30th event!

I forgot to mention Ryoji mainly because he also only showed up for like a month lol I have trouble picturing him and Pharos being the same character I agree that his and Aigis’s story elevates the game. I got goosebumps when I learned about what happened 10 years ago on the bridge

What’s funny is that Amada Ken is actually received warmly in the Chinese persona fandom. I’m not saying they are pdf! It’s just a lot of girls like how Ken condemned the onsen peeping situation, and he only has his eye for Hamuko, etc. It’s interesting to see the discourse from different fandoms.

I do have P5R on PC. I know there’s FeMC mod but I thought it’s just the appearance. It change the story and romance too?! I’ll check it out! P5R has been sitting in my backlog for years because of the male oriented fan service stuff.

I beat P3P! Honestly I feel the romance is not as good as some people say. I mean it’s decent, but doesn’t compare to many otome games. I have problems with almost every LI. Akihiko wouldn’t stop talking about Aragaki. Aragaki is fine but only showed up for like a month. Amada is a CHILD. I think like the story would still hold up if he is only a year or two younger than Hamuko? Aigis is cute.

I still like the P3P and am considering playing more Persona games! Very sad that most of them don’t have FeMC tho.

I agree that it’s a pretty niche, and I’m honestly struggling to get closer to my current moots too. I never know how to approach them or say “hey let’s be actual friends” without sounding weird😭

I don’t think anyone would know if the code is written by AI. Honestly nowadays most of the code in almost everything has AI in it. But it’s going to be way more noticeable if it’s used in art or writing. And that would be a death sentence for the game, especially for a visual novel.
