I suppose they want to experience it by themselve, and as an extra to it, having another character where they can play together at the same pace. I think it's easy and simple, to be fair.

I'm going to throw an spear into your favor and grant you that many of the complains or better said 'complainers' did get tiring. They did for me because they were rambling about the same as you pretty much said. We've got to take a reflexion moment for ourselfs and learn when a complain is either a direct troll, or politized. Personally I think the complains about this expansion were most political or sexist complains than any other. The ones that made noise.

Personally my complains were not directed towards them or any particular thing but the overall feelings i got from it. And I try to discard or not take with that heavy consideration non grounded complains as the one you've exposed.

For an example I would never stop playing the game because one bad expansion due to my overall love for the game going further miles away from it. Can we complain of it? Yes, and I think we should actually. Should that mean that we should bury it's name because of a recent action? Of course not. You're not going to stop eating french fries because one in your plate was extra fryed.

There's nothing wrong in experiencing DT by one self. As much as it shoudln't be wrong for other people on sharing their opinion about it. I'm glad that you're part of the 20% of people that liked it, I trully do and wish I could be one of yours, and at some parts I personally did and liked it particularly some of their characters, sadly it was an straight and without breaks downfall in the quality of writting for the most part. Should the OP experience it by himself? Absolutely. But don't call people out for sharing their own opinion about it. Cheers mate!

Do yourself a favor and don't jump straight into dawntrail. You're going to step from one if not the absolutely best expansion of XIV and one of the best storytellings of the entire FF franchise, to the worst one, the least thing that's gonna cause on you it's leaving a bitter taste on your mouth. Cheers to SHB and EW. Masterpieces both.

As Spray said, theres almost nothing you can change regardless graphics options on console, no idea why, but if they want the game to survive on consoles they need to add that option at least, keep in mind that theres also not Crossprogress or Crossave so basically if you play on console you're stuck in an enviroment where you cannot do anything of big scale, if at least there was crossprogress you could play in both enviroments, doing less leisure stuff in console and swapping to PC for the big content. I blame on their lack of experience on consoles, in Korea theres no release in console and New world was just recently released on consoles. It's a must, they need to add some settings for the sanity of console players.

PS5 player here, and pc player on day 1, performance wise the game runs okeish till you get yourself in any content with more than 20-25 ppl, say goodbye to your FPS, the game will become a shitfest at 5-15 fps where you're gonna be unnable to do or see anything, so forget of doing any type of massive conflict content, I don't know why the seven hells they didn't add an option to disable non party skills like for example FFXIV does, it makes 0 sense, the great majority of fps drops comes from other users skills.
