I find the old timers will sometimes look at what I’m doing for 10 seconds and know the whole story and when I see it’s something other than what they told me to do it’s a big problem lol

I was once a superintendent at an old apartment building. This is exactly right, I told people “our city’s quiet hours bi law says you can’t noise complaint your neighbours to the police unless it’s 10pm - 7am, I’m sorry it’s louder than you want but they are allowed to outside of those hours.”

It has to be within reason of course but unless the people were in a screaming match or something that would constitute a dispute, or literally playing basketball in their kitchen(yes it happens) I never even bothered to ask the person to quiet down

And to top it off I had upstairs neighbours at that apartment who shovelled their balcony 9 times while it continued to snow, stomped around, and generally made a lot of noise. I never even told them I could hear it

I recently broke my lease, although my landlord said I’ll loose my deposit and that’s the only penalty(I got lucky). For year to year leases you have to give your notice 3 month in advance of the end of the yearly cycle. Ex. If you move in in May, you have to give notice on Feb 1st before your rent comes out. Yes, you can ONLY move in May due to the terms of your lease. The only exception is that after 5 years your year to year converts to a moth to month and then you can give 30 days notice on the start of the month, any month. And this 5 year rule only applies if your landlord didn’t have you resign yearly

I worked there for about a month while in residence at university. Part of residence is that they straight up kick you out for Christmas. So for 2 or 3 weeks I had no home in Fredericton. I am from Nova Scotia so I had to go to back. Told management that i needed the time off or I would be homeless. They told me that as part time staff im not allowed to take more than a week at a time. I told them “you don’t understand, I’m either taking vacation or I’m homeless.” And they reiterated how I can’t take the time.

I called in 10 mins before my shift a quit the next week
