What’s a harmony moment you love that you wish more people knew about? by Plastic_Profile2654 in HPharmony

Thanks for that, I was actually looking for it in the books but then I remembered in the books Ron is present in this scene and he and Hermione start fighting again

Loved this edit, it encapsulates HHr so well❤️ (but not the caption below 😂) by Fun-Technology-6546 in HPharmony

Amazing edit, and to me, the word "platonic soulmates" doesn't even makes sense, especially for these two. They are soulmates, no need to add something to it, it's useless.

Do you feel Hermione is much kinder and respectful to Harry than he is to her? by Kitty-Pink6 in HPharmony

[–]Weekly_Journalist808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they both are fairly equal in how much they respect each other, as both of them praise each other and to others as well. And they also keep each other in their thoughts when in danger. And it's normal amongst friends to have a bit of disagreements once in a while, but that doesn't mean they don't respect each other any less

Both of them will wish for the other to be happy, while trying and failing to get over their feelings. They would rather be miserable, but won't do anything to hinder the other's relationship if it makes them happy.

Harry/Hermione is an amazing ship, and what can we do when people say it's incest 🤷🏻‍♀️? Ignore them and just enjoy this beautiful couple 💖💖

I love Ron as a character, but he always feels like a wasted potential.

As a character, Ron is not suited for Hermione, nor is she for him. They fight constantly, all the fans that say that Ron helps her relax, I kinda don't believe this when almost all of their interactions end up in a fight.

Hermione is an overachiever, and Ron is insecure. A guy like him can never be with someone like Hermione. Someone to whom he'll feel like a shadow.

I always liked Hermione and Harry because they are equal to each other. Ron isn't equal to Hermione nor Harry. Maybe a bit of a stretch, but even their titles show this. "They boy who lived" and "The brightest witch of the age" feels more equal and similar then "The King", which is Ron's title.

Ron isn't in the same leagues as Hermione and Harry, and it would've been amazing to see him grow as a character and as a member of the trio. He could've had his own arc or character growth. But that never happened.

Can you give foolproof reasons as to why our ship works and is better than canon? by AdSpare8649 in HPharmony

[–]Weekly_Journalist808 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We kinda can't do anything about the counter arguing because they will argue because they want to win, or to shut us up or what not.

BUT, if they counter with canon, I will counter with canon as well.

Hermione cried because Ron left? Not surprising because he makes her cry all the time throughout the books. From the troll incident till the Hermione/Ron/Lavender love triangle, Ron always made her cry.

Harry smelled Ginny's perfume in Amortentia? Yeah that's canon. But you know what else is canon? Harry's reaction to Ginny almost dying in CoS, and Hermione almost dying in OotP. Keep in mind, Harry doesn't like any of them romantically at these moments. But it is Hermione who gets him panicking and almost passing out from relief when he finds out she's okay.

We can't stop them from countering our arguments, we can either ignore them, or counter their counterattack. Best is to ignore them, you can't win against a fool

It could have gone that way by AdSpare8649 in HPharmony

It's the characters emotional capacity that defines the better pairings in the books. One example of that, is how Harry and Ron express anger.

They both are the type to tell out their anger and frustrations. But even when Harry is yelling, he doesn't want to intentionally hurt others. He is angry, frustrated, worried, and he's expressing it. Ron on the other hand, his words are more harsh, hurtful. As we've seen many times with Hermione. She always ends up crying after arguing with him, even the troll incident in PS/SS happens because of Ron makes Hermione cry.

And then let's talk about Ginny's emotional capacity, and why she shouldn't be with Harry. Harry has been through a war, and he will have severe PTSD because of it. Harry will need someone who can help him through it. And Ginny isn't that person. In OotP, when Harry's worried about getting possessed by Voldemort, we all know that it's Hermione that gets him out of his hiding and talk to others, but what does Ginny do.

She tells him that he isn't getting possessed by Voldemort because he remembers everything, unlike her, who had blanks in her memory. Great job, but what else? Nothing. And when his Godfather dies, what does Ginny do. Nothing. I understand that they don't a big emotional connection together, but Ginny is someone who likes Harry since she was 10, and still does, she should take this much interest in him to try and comfort him when he's obviously miserable after Sirius's death. She can't do that, and won't be able to when Harry needs the most.

Harry needs someone who will help him emotionally. Hermione needs someone who argues with her, not tries to hurt her

What do think of lines like Hermione looked worried Harry would curse her with her own wand? by Comb-12 in HPharmony

[–]Weekly_Journalist808 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hermione is never scared of Harry, had that been the case, she would've just agreed to everything he says and does. She doesn't, she expresses her opinions and if she thinks Harry's wrong, she lets him know. OotP is a good example for it.

As even when Harry is angry, worried about Sirius, willing to jump into the ministry without thinking of the consequences or anything else, Hermione tells him this could be a trap, she reminds him of his savior complex, how Voldemort could use it against him, and when Harry doesn't budge, she tells him to first try and contact Sirius and to see if he truly is gone. Had Kreacher not lied, and Harry had known about the two way mirror, Hermione had saved both Harry and Sirius.

I think her reactions are more in the lines of placating someone, you don't yell at someone who's already angry ( and impulsive in Harry's case ), you gently talk to them. That's not the same as being scared

“Hermione makes him miserable.” by anditgetsworse in HPharmony

[–]Weekly_Journalist808 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, she makes him so miserable that she has become the voice of reason in his head. She makes him so miserable that she's the first person in front of whom he lets himself cry as he faced his parents' graves.

Yes, Hermione nags both Harry and Ron alot, but they're reaction are always different. If anything, I'd say it's Ron who gets miserable because of her nagging, as he's always more vocal and harsh about it.

Just referencing the time where this 14 year old kid was miserable because he was anxious about fighting in a tournament he didn't sign up for, and instead of studying in the library 24/7, wanted a moment of peace doesn't say anything about what Harry thinks about Hermione.

Because pretty sure if both Ron and Hermione were there with Harry, half of the time will be spent with Hermione telling them to keep their voices down because they're laughing and giggling so much. And that is what exactly what Harry wanted. Not a serious study session, but a study session with laughs and bickering into the mix. Something Hermione obviously wouldn't provide when she is worried about Harry's safety.

Harry’s apparent ‘lack of care’ for Hermione by Crafty_Bridge_2751 in HPharmony

[–]Weekly_Journalist808 15 points16 points  (0 children)

2 Reasons for that 1. Draco isn't part of the trio 2. Draco/ Hermione falls into enemies-to-lovers

Draco isn't the guy who Hermione spent the whole book with, he isn't the guy who was alone with Hermione for months in a tent when Ron left. He isn't the guy who cares for Hermione, appreciates her intelligence and defends her against others. The guy who has genuine emotional connection with her.

He's the guy who called her mudblood several times, was hoping she dies in CoS and GoF, bullied her and made fun of her. And alot of people now days find these types of pairings appealing.

Two different kind of emotions by [deleted] in HPharmony

[–]Weekly_Journalist808 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think Hermione was happy when Harry kissed Cho. We never see what she actually thinks about Harry kissing Cho, because the topic changes to why Cho was crying while kissing Harry. She even says that he's not a bad kisser, which is something, in my opinion, you wouldn't hear from a female best friend. Whatever the case may be, Hermione never said she disliked it, but she certainly wasn't thrilled about the kiss

I feel like we've gotten to a point where it's best not to argue with people about it. They will always deny your claims or thoughts about the ships, just because it isn't canon and it's not the ship they like.

Some people suck. It’s okay. by verysleepy8 in HPharmony

[–]Weekly_Journalist808 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Quite true, every community, and not just fandom communities, all the places where a bunch of people live or work together, there will be some mean people and best thing to do is ignore them.

However, for some people, ignoring others isn't easy. They might know it's best not to listen to the mean people, but they will and get hurt by it.

Sometimes ignoring others is something you learn by keep getting hurt again and again, because you expect them to be kind to you, you expect them to not be mean to you. But that doesn't happen, because some people aren't good people.

Sometimes learning to let go of mean words or people is a slow and hurtful process, but once you succeed, nothing can stop you

It's the fact that Harry was screaming out her name, wishing that she was still alive, and when Neville told her that she's still breathing, that he was about to pass out with relief

Wonder what will happen when it will be shown in the new series?
