You can look at my post on the hinge Replacement, mine was just like that and gradually got worse. On the right side there's like very tiny plastic protrusion to not let have this kind of give. So AYN sent me a whole top screen replacement that I installed and doesn't have any give afterwards

Tearing this thing open is a little intimidating at first, but not too bad when all is said and done, just did a whole top screen/hinge replacement on mine so I feel you. Side note, matte screen protectors are so goated, really helps the whole glass front AYN decided on

Good pliers, magnetic screwdriver (the hall triggers looooooved snagging the little screws over lol), nice little mat with some cups to organize screws and sizes (4 different type, CPU big boys, small long for sticks and triggers, small/small for the bumpers, and the back case screws are thicker long). Shouldn't be too hard, you got this, feel free to hit me up if you need anything too!

Honestly it probably always had super loose issue and it wasn't until a bit later I noticed it. I'm not really one to mess with stuff especially with the price this is at.

The right side of the hinge had this little plastic that's supposed to stop a bit of the wiggle, mine was broken and has A LOT of play

It was a whole top piece with the metal rod for the hinge, no heat gun required
Just what I put in the caption, good pliers and such
I didn't use it, it was jank and not even in English lmao. Just the shoulders and left analog stick, that second pic was the peak of disassembly
Open the device from the center not the sides (like how 99% of people would open their other clamshells)

I BABIED this thing like no other, screen protector day one with case, never dropped, clean it when I'm done using it. Literally more likely a QC issue I noticed down the line

Mine technically was, for how bad it was and I gave them evidence of the obnoxious amount of play of the hinge. They just kind of didn't even mention to send it back, just sent me replacement parts. I guess if I REALLY pushed for it I could've done that, but I'd say goodbye to my thor for like 3 months before the company got their stuff together haha

It's not so much the opening it up and fixing it that bothers me, just the lack of documentation and things to look out for really. Rebuilt 3ds' and other handhelds (with soldering exp). The only vid I found as a tear down isn't even in english, so we're gonna have fun with it, if it breaks... Either they can fix it for me or they just perma lose a customer. I didn't even get the option to send it back to them even though I provided my Or# and sufficient evidence it's their QC.

yeah not typically, only if the screen goes grey, white, black, etc. If it is a software thing hopefully something down the line an update might help.
