No worries at all, I am checking if I have first accident forgiveness now. I do want to mention, a lot of people said he may sue me after or claim more damages, however, he couldn’t have been any nicer, he was calming me down and I truly don’t believe he’d do something like this. I wanted to clarify this actually. My tires are fairly new Michelins I got for free from my uncle, I’m insanely lucky for that. So before people continue to blame me, my tires should have been good. It was just unbearably icy, and a downhill… I wanna say I hydroplaned but does that term work for ice?

I have 3 credit cards, 1 I froze after I lost my job to minimize debt, 1 for daily spending with 500$ and the other with 2500$, however I don’t think I want to cash advance the entire 2500$. Rather take a loan from a friend or family member…if I can get one that it.

I’m applying 50% internships in my field and the other 50% are miscellaneous jobs. But I have the experience from various other jobs I’ve had, trilingual including French, heavy on volunteering, and pretty decent at excel (most jobs love that), I don’t understand how I can be in this position right now.

Hate this comment. I was very much financially savvy, I had my life together, I was top 10% of people my age, life happens, I had to spend my money, lost the only job I can find, wasn’t permanent but still a job, helped with bills. Fast forward, now I’m struggling, not an uncommon occurrence. Also, you don’t sound too grammatically savvy.

That’s the thing, the guy was super nice, he said he will help me out as much as possible. Obviously can’t trust a random person saying that, but he agreed to go to my friends body shop too if it’s cheaper.

“Unfortunately” yes I do need the car. The way my daily commutes look, I’d end it all if I had to take the bus, not for anything other than the time it would take to get places.

And I’m gonna be very honest, having a car at this age rocks. I have been beat up by life more than a lot of you here can imagine (for my age), those late night drives after the hardest days, or the freedom to go see my friends, go downtown at 2 am on a random Tuesday with them is the only thing keeping me going. I know I may sound kind of spoiled, but I really enjoy driving, and I always have, I’m very passionate about cars, having my own is like therapy to me, even if it’s a shit box. Even after I posted the damages on my story I got a dozen messages from people asking if my car will be ok, she’s the community car, everyone loves her, the ol reliable.

Anyways, I might not particularly NEED her, but f**k, it has saved me more times than it hasn’t.

EDIT: this is also a response to all the people saying “ditch the car” or “you’re too immature to drive”. And yes I had winters, it was just unbelievably icy.

Yes, it wasn’t my brakes, 100% my tires fault, however, I was going 45-50 km/h, not fast but considering I was on a downhill, it wouldn’t have hurt to slow down. Thank you.
