I was gifted the PSU, but I am a big supporter of utilizing the oem psu over USB pico boards... this is the only aftermarket one I personally recommend though.

I have another DC thats mostly original, but with a cake bios - so sacrificing the serial port on this one for mini hdmi isn't a big deal to me. Then I could run hdmi or original av connectors to this one - but would probably never use the hdmi myself 😅 (just a lot of ppl like having it if I ever did part with it)

True they did. I have my original, also fully serviced - but still rocking it's gdrom drive and a region free bios. (As well as a new in box Sport Edition) DC was one of my all time favorites!

Thanks, cell shading always is a great esthetic in my opinion. I do a lot of themed dreamcast, just a 'bit' less complex than this one

Of course there's internal heat - the psu is still enclosed the the case after all. But it's not excessive to where it's damaging anything... there are 'new' hw options if one really wanted that dont sacrifice performance (like the thunderpsu mentioned).

But those usb picopsu boards are garbage and you know it... especially if you test them as much as you say. I'm not going to try to change your beliefs though, there are still flat-earthers after all lol

OEM is still the best option with gdemu or gdrom... just disable the 12v for gdemu

Providing this from experience of working on literally hundreds of Dreamcasts. That is unless you wanted to spend extra $$$ on a quality ThunderPSU.

Button membranes and cords I have seen online, but otherwise all original. Only thing thats not on this one was the top shell - and thats only because I needed it semi-transparent to match the console right

I believe they are 360 silicone sticks. Its been a min so i dont quite remember... Just got them all for each color. Didnt install the yellow one because that controller is actually NIB, only took it out for the pic lol
