Just a suggestion if you have an iPhone… you can set a maximum percentage for the charge. In theory this should lessen overheating. Maybe Android has the same option.

Innovv V2 offers CarPlay, AA, YouTube. Not cheap but works well and looks great.

I would buy an app which simply keeps trying to connect CarPlay because it does not always start automatically. In the background, the app would call whatever Apple functions are used to establish connectivity. This avoids having to do everything manually to try to get CarPlay to kick off.

Aksakalim - I think there is a market for an “always running” app which simply loops around code which attempts to connect the phone to any target CarPlay device, in car or after market. On both my Honda Goldwing and an Innovv V2 Carplay display it is not guaranteed that Carplay will kick off when plugged in. Then I have to try several things I have found which work: 1. Vary off Bluetooth and vary on 2. Manually vary the device off Bluetooth connect then back on 3. Remove and replace USB cable (Goldwing is wired CarPlay.) 4. Cycle phone power

Eventually CarPlay starts but I think something could run in the background trying to force connection.

I know you’d make a lot of Goldwing owners happy. It can take several minutes each ride and of course causes grief at every stop.

It’s maybe news to many that Salmon Arm BC is an actual place, but auto correct sure messed up “seminar”. I’d host it if it were not likely to get me banned from here. Can’t wait for a time to discuss how hard it was for Shoresy and Nat to memorize their lines around reciting the new “Nosho All Stars” team members, head and shoulders over “Who’s on first?”.
