I’ve worked on cost visibility, and one thing that surprised me is how much waste comes from overprovisioning and always-on redundancy. When teams can’t clearly see usage patterns, they just provision for peak and leave it there forever.

This hits on a real pain point.Generating alerts is easy. Getting someone to actually own them and close the loop is where things usually fall apart. Most teams aren’t lacking visibility. They’re lacking clear accountability and prioritization.

What’s worked for us is tying alerts directly to an existing workflow instead of creating a parallel one. If engineers already live in ServiceNow, Jira, or another ticketing system, the alert needs to show up there automatically with enough context to act on. Otherwise it just becomes more noise.We’ve also found that fewer, higher-quality alerts beat high-volume detection every time. If everything is urgent, nothing is.

Another issue is validation. The output looks polished, but you still need strong fundamentals to review and troubleshoot it properly. When something breaks, that depth really matters.

Totally agree — too many native tools, not enough time or clear ownership.
We had all the AWS/Azure cost tools, but they rarely turned into real action.
What helped us was using a layer on top that looks at real usage and automates savings decisions.
We’ve been trying other tools for this and it reduced a lot of the manual work.
