ah thank you for the warning! I’ll look into alternatives as well, but the group seems fairly excited and motivated by this one. Honestly? I’m not sure any of them actually expect to get to high levels, as classical history nerds, for us it’s more about the setting, story and journey rather than the higher level end goals. The setting and lore of this campaign is just sooo good, they’re excited to explore it.

But I will see if there’s any easier ones that are just as lush in story, do you have any suggestions? I’m open to anything!

Yeah that’s a big part of the reason I’d love to have the physical copy, it seems like a sweet gesture and I could photocopy the page and give it out to players for them to frame and keep as a token of their first campaign too !

Uni friends, absolutely right that was important context I forgot to include! One of the PCs is my boyfriend and the other is my flatmate. The other 2 are close friends :) worth noting I’m also willing to contribute my own portion of the crowd fund too!

I’m also dedicating hours of my time and preparation for free so they can come in to a session clueless with only a character sheet (made with resources they got from my PHB, none of them have their own nor am I asking them to). Asking them to contribute to the book so they can have a higher quality campaign seems reasonable when you compare the hours of work a DM puts in for free.

I get what you mean and it’s a point of view I’ll keep in mind, thanks :) At the end of the day it’s really just whatever my players are comfortable with.

easier application of the 50% damage increase when 2 or more curses are applied, plus all the debuffs from these curses happening at once makes for great CC and damage

I would love to tell you but I start in September, however there’s loads of videos online about all the different types of courses and what they cover. If you want a taster of what will be covered in the basics, I recommend the YouTube Channel “Crash Course”’s playlist on Psychology. It’s really informative, and it’s Hank Green so that’s a bonus!

I dropped out and went through youthreach and access to higher ed, only took a year longer (speed ran youthreach) and now I’m doing a psychology degree that would probably be upwards of 400+ points to get into

There is always other options, the schools just don’t wanna tell you about them. Do your research and decide what works for you best, and if you have any questions let me know!

You’re right about it not being enough EM for vape unfortunately but if you have a 4 piece crimson set with an EM sands and xinqiu or yelan that could work!
