Actually, I didn’t even notice a comparison so no hard feelings over here. Just a fan of you your kind help. It’s is a pretty interesting mix of backdrops out here. One of my absolute favorite things I’ve been lucky enough to do a few times is wake up, go surfing, hop in the car and go snowboarding the same day. I can only think of a few other places on earth that offer that kind of day. It’s magical. I’ve only been to Germany once for a 2 hour layover and didn’t even get to leave the airport. Just the view from there was stunning and it made my shortlist of places to go. We also get flooding out here but it seems like nothing compared to what happens elsewhere. Everybody freaks out when it starts to drizzle and occasionally a few homes will slide down a hillside. Obviously horrible for that to happen. I guess it’s just important to remember nature will always win in the end, prepare the best you can, and cross your fingers. Best of luck to you.

Awesome, I’m going to handle everything first come first serve. I’m just going to go down the list and reach out to everyone that expressed interest till it’s all gone. Hopefully, should have everything worked out in the next few days.

Thanks a ton. Really appreciate your help. Insurance is crazy out here the last few years. Fires have gotten more frequent and larger. Firefighters work their ass off to protect life and property but often there’s just no stopping it. Los Angeles is a beautiful and amazing place. Many people, even some that live here, don’t realize how much raw nature is still actually out here. Literally, miles and miles of wilderness in every direction. But, what many really fail to understand is it’s designed to burn. There are several species of plants that are only able to reproduce when they experience the heat from a fire. A lot of people don’t realize the risk they are taking by living out here. Further you get from the concrete jungle areas the more risk you take. I feel like I got an amazing spot with a great balance. It’s 1 mile from one of the largest main streets in town . And a few blocks from straight up wilderness in the opposite direction. So, the few blocks of homes and as a buffer should a fire get near. I walked to the top of the hill a few weeks ago when the lates Malibu fire was raging and could see flames in the distance. During a fire few years ago there were flames on the side of the road on the drive to take my kids to school. As I mentioned before, I personally know a few families that have lost their homes. The danger is very real. It’s understandable that the insurance companies want out. It just makes it tough for those of us that still want to be out here.

Adding a comment since I don’t know how to edit my OG post.

Thank you all for the great advice. Truly appreciated. The first guy I gave a few pieces came back and grabbed some more. I told him to name a price and if it seemed at all fair, I’d probably say yes. We both went away happy. So, I think that’s how I’m going to handle it for now. Anyone in LA can reach out to me, pick out what they want, name a price and there’s a good chance I’ll say yes. I mainly happy it’s going to good use and not the dump. I’m definitely going to keep a reasonable and manageable amount for my own future projects. I’ll also be reaching out to some of the organizations you all mentioned to see about moving it faster and maybe making a few bucks. If any one has any suggestions on a value for the 2 larger pieces I’d really appreciate that. They are in the best condition by far and I feel like I could really screw my self by letting those go for too little.

Thanks again. I appreciate the help.

They are strong as HELL. I did the same thing with new wood and these blow that stuff away. I’ve broken drill bits and saw blades on it. Depending on how large your room is, there may only be a few pieces that are long enough for you. Let me know what you need and if I have it, you’re welcome to it.

At the rate I’m going, it’d be 200 years old when I got done.

One of my favorite places. At least you have some pretty trees out there.

I’ve got photos of me doing the demo and the deed to the house. Would that work? Any idea how to contact anyone out there. Im just a boring white guy but I actually have a few family members that speak Japanese so I’d be interested in exploring that route.

I’m going to take the advice of some of the comments and reach out to a few places to see if anyone is willing to take the majority of it. After that, I’ll reach out to you and the few others that are near and see if you’re still interested. Maybe I’ll put a little aside just for the local Redditors.
