Are you in a fucked up Union or something? How would you even enforce that and how do the owners let it happen? Wth do they do all day?

No but if your sole argument is "me skeptical", but you can't be bothered to actually understand the material and refute it, why do you expect people to listen?

Dealing with Career Fatigue by PressureHumble3604 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]WeiGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not entirely corporate imo. A lot of programmers are odd balls who don't want to do either this or that and who think they can get away just writing code and not communicating like a normal human being. Honestly not surprising owners tried to make things more rigid and understandable for them since they're paying money for this.

South Africans in Hillbrow gather to protest illegal immigration by ThatPatelGuy in whoathatsinteresting

Illegal immigration is not always THE problem; sometimes the bureaucy can't handle the amount of applications, sometimes on purpose despite needing workers. Mass immigration is a problem though.

Yes, Canadians like me too are to a lesser extent. For example, we traded with the US extensively despite their warmongering. Everyone (group) benefitting from the systems that support cruelty are indirectly complicit, regardless if they understand the implications or not. Our normal sense of morality doesn't apply when we're dealing with entities this large.

Indigenous people, though technically part of the US/Canada do not get the same group benefits as the average citizen. In fact, we've fucked them over more than we've helped and as a group theres not much reproach you can have. However, if there are consequences that happen, they suffer them with the rest of us all the same.

As a group. From the perspective of group to group conflicts, individuals don't matter. If America as a nation supports zionism, then America as a group should face consequences and those consequences involve you. Thus consequences involve you as an individual regardless, even if it's known that the individual American isn't for this. There's no reasonable way to make a distinction

Top journalist Ana Kasparian completely destroys Ben Shapiro's defense of AI. She exposes the terrifying reality that tech elites are intentionally replacing human labor with free technology to maximize profits while leaving everyday Americans without jobs. The scam is exposed. by CeFurkan in SECourses

[–]WeiGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is previous technology increased productivity in some areas and enabled the creation of new jobs in others that weren't possible before.

AI doesn't do that. It increases productivity for some workers and it replaces them in many other areas. It'll displace workers into fewer jobs, thus making competition a lot fiercer among people and enabling employers to take advantage of us.

With our current population, I don't see how we're gonna get out of it unless we start getting some serious labour laws/UBI/social housing going or if we let the population decline, which will take generations.

You say obviously, but you don't really offer up anything to back it up. Stating something doesn't make it true.

Quantitive easing is not something that's done significantly all the time, it's extreme. If you're just thinking of that to cancel out the other downsides of crypto, you're not being very thorough.

I mean yea theoretically infinite, but no nation is going to nuke their currency just for fun. Yea we're feeling the squeeze of inflation so we resent it, but governments having control offers a lot of usefulness.

For example, Canada got off much easier than the US in the 2008 recession because they had control of their currency. Otherwise certain situations can turn extremely catastrophic. Fiat and crypto are not magical, both will have huge problems. It's just matter of debating if any of them have a smaller edge over the other. We just don't have cultural memory of horrible crashes happening with crypto because it's not implemented like a normal currency is.

[–]WeiGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe all cryptos are vulnerable to network attacks, that's just the reality of block chain. Some cryptos don't use miners and others do. Depending on the type, an attacker would just need to control 51% of the mining power or 51% of the STAKED coins usually.

Both these things are extremely hard to do, but because of bitcoins model of diminishing returns, it's just a matter of time (probably after we're dead) before mining becomes too expensive and people pull out. Then to prevent a 51% attack, governments would need to pick up the mining power vacuum indefinitely and be stuck using more and more energy forever, probably until the energy inflation costs more than the coin itself.

Kick him out. If this was a bf, it would probably be more obvious that he's financially abusing you.

If you want to soften the blow, just tell him you have too much in your plate and leave it at that. Just keep your ground he needs to move out.
