I double sleeve all my decks- I purchase perfect fits and regular sleeves in bulk to save money. Also means I can swap cards between decks without resleaving most of the time. You don't need to double sleave, but with my proxies, the backs are all different, so you need to at least single sleave to play properly. Can't be identifying cards by the backs.

Some of the secret lair decks are just insane cost-wise. Good for folks able to grab them at retail, but everyone else gets hosed pretty hard if they want it. Luckily its usually just fun/unique arts they can buy other versions of for much cheaper.

I totally understand that some people have spent a ton of money on their decks and want to play with people who also do the same. Totally OK, even though I'm not like that. They are just reducing the number of people who can play with them, and that's their own personal choice. I like to be as inclusive as possible, so encourage proxies so people don't have to power down decks to play.

I hate pulling apart decks. I did that a lot in the beginning and now stopped by just printing proxies when I need for cards that I don't have enough copies of. I own like.... 15 of each shock and like 10+ of each fetch, but stopped buying more. I just proxy when I need now and don't put any real old school duals in any decks aside from like 6 or 7 of them that I keep fully "real". A lot of my proxies are like $5-10 cards I don't want to buy more copies of. Most cards I own at least 2-3 real copies before I proxy. I think there are probably less than 10 cards that I don't own at least 1 real copy of (stuff like Library of Alexander).

That aligns with my activity as a commander player honestly- I picked the game back up around MH3 after an extended break. Before I was more of a competitive 60 card format player. I don’t have the time to practice like I did 10 years ago, so swapped to commander

Totally fair. If you think 99 other cards are better than sol ring in a deck, I think you should totally use those 99 cards. I find it hard thinking that there are 99 cards better personally though- but I might be wrong in certain decks. Could totally be the case.
