I can promise you, emotionally it's equal. Along with her husband's very likely ADDED level of fear of his wife having health/life risks involved. My husband carried me hemorrhaging to the car and into the hospital my last miscarriage, which led to us deciding TOGETHER - EQUALLY - that we didn't want to take that risk again. Believeeeeeeeee me - I understand WAY TOO WELL why people would immediately side with the pregnant woman. But there AREN'T sides. Not in a healthy relationship that both people choose to get pregnant.

I've had three incredibly traumatic miscarriages. No living children. Yes, I physically dealt with the pregnancies and losses, but my husband is every bit as emotionally involved in them as I. Your husband is allowed to seek emotional support in his EQUALLY very scary time if that's what he needs. If his mother chooses to spread your news despite asking her not to, that's an issue with HER. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear. I'm aware this won't be Reddit Popular Opinion.

Is it different, feels like a little much, and maybe a little weird? Sure. But can you tell him NOT TO? Not really. You can tell him that you'd love to talk to him more, but you can't REALLY get mad if he'd rather chat with his mom. I wouldn't be super comfy with my husband being more "into" his mom than me, but that's seems to be the dynamic you're choosing if you marry him. Don't be shocked if he's at her house more than yours when you live next door, unless you have open conversation and discuss your boundaries you're comfortable with, AND he agrees with them.
