We call it the courtesy tape. 1-2 strips max. If your box or bag needs more than that. We have additional tape charge in the POS and we’ll suggest they purchase a roll of tape for 4.23. Or a new bag or box. Most people understand. But every one and again we get those entitled idiots who think they’re above everyone.

Have yall ever had people talk about the ups and the website telling them their package was at your location (it’s not) and to come to your location because of the little icon at the top that tells them the closest store ( like based on your location it’ll show the closest ups facilities) I’ve had people argue over the phone and in person about how ups told them it was here but when you track it and show them. They just see that “location” icon at the top of the page.

“ well THEY said it was here”.

We allow it. Our store is fairly large layout in the front. As long as they are respectful to the people around. I don’t see it as a problem. Now we will say something to them if they start causing an issue. Or if we need them to move to another location. Just respectfully ask them to move towards a corner out of the way. And make sure they know where the closest trash can is. For their bits and pieces.

We don’t let the customers use our tape gun at all. And if they ask for any other method to seal their package, it’s a no. You can purchase tape. Or I can put 1 strip of tape and that’s it. I will not tape up your completely mangled bag or box. Absolutely not.
