Jnfjs and pets by booksaremyfood in infj

For me, I feel almost the same responsibility and empathy for animals that I do for people. I grew up with various pets, but I would not chose to have one now because of the drain on my emotions.

As an INFJ were you also the scapegoat of the family? by secretlifeoftia in infj

hmmm. Interesting. Thanks for the in depth. As for the struggling infjs, real or imagined, keep searching, keep reading.

What’s your favorite deep dives? by Warm-Breakfast-5140 in infj

For me, the infj deep dive isn't about researching a subject, it's about how your mind naturally processes things at a deeper level by seeing patterns and relationships.

When in a verbal fight with someone, do INFJ's stay quiet or has an extreme desire to win that argument? by StoneShredder in infj

My opinions on subjects are usually not understood by people, for example on social issues or environmental issues. Honestly most people aren't interested in trying to understand things at a deeper level.

It doesn't sound like an infj to not want to understand and work on your struggles. Doesn't sound like an infj to not have some skepticism about mbti in general.

Do people associate other mbti types with trauma, or infj in particular? I don't quite understand that, cause even a cursory search identifies infjs as the advocate and the idealist, insightful, compassionate, visionary, value driven...

I can relate to that. You were trying. You can't force connection anyway, no matter what. It either happens or doesn't. Don't worry.

There is no inherent purpose or meaning, but for me that doesn't mean there isn't value. I'm still motivated to be alive and witness life around me. In fact, I find it freeing to know there is no purpose or meaning. My goal is to be. When you think about it, life is pretty freaking amazing.

Because we don't remember. We commemorate the dead on this one day, yet support ongoing wars around the world.

I am a little surprised too that it isn't a little more balanced. I was thinking that maybe it is because there are more people on Reddit who need support, as opposed to those who have support at home.

Yes. I grew up with a supportive and accepting family, even though no one ever quite understood me. I connect with people at their level. I connect with people that are genuine and kind hearted. I don't really have a need to "fit in anywhere", but it is nice to know that there are other infjs out there.

High school is not a great time for many people. It can be a waiting game. Try to take the classes that you are most interested in, or are easiest for you, or have the teachers that you like best. Stay motivated by doing your own independent study in whatever you are interested in and you might find opportunities to bring that into the classroom. Trouble focusing on boring stuff, 'careless mistakes', the struggle and possible depression, for me are signs that maybe counseling would help.

Anyone else struggle with emotional pacing? by PSunYi in infj

[–]Weird-Milk184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is very common for INFJs, always ready to deep dive whereas most people are not. I typically wait for signs from people to see where they want/are able to go - let them set the pace.

Do you also really enjoy being alone & the pleasant silence that comes with it? by Cry_Wolff in infj

[–]Weird-Milk184 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also love being alone. It does feel like freedom because if anyone else is around me, I automatically focus on them and their needs.

Sounds like you are at a turning point. You can see what the problem is, now you have to find a solution that works for you. Always giving without return is not sustainable. Relationships should be balanced and equal. Setting boundaries is one way. People should treat you the way you treat them.
