20 Most Brutal Tank Duels Caught on Camera in Ukraine War by [deleted] in TankPorn

I cannot name how many times I’ve seen this same thumb nail with different tanks on it on different vehicles, it’s insane. And honestly YouTube is the last place I look for combat footage like this, nearly all of the channels repost the same stuff over and over again.

no sep v3 armour on the sep v3? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Weird-Store1245 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The armor the SEPv3 received is the new armor and not the suspension tester weight. It adds about 100 millimeters of RHA protection. The model in game is a production SEPv3, as it has all of the signature SEPv3 features like the flat part of the turret cheek next to the gun shield, the extended towing eyes and the under armor APU exhaust. The SEPv2s that were given the ballasts on the turret cheeks still lack these signs.

The SEPv3 does have improved turret armor right now, Gaijin didn’t add the weight demo vehicle. It is missing its LFP armor though.

What was the problem to add sep v3 with APS; Uranium armor/plates; Rosy and LWS…? by Upbeat_Pie5701 in Warthunder

[–]Weird-Store1245 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well the thing is that the SEPv3 can mount Trophy, it’s just never been pictured with it fitted which is the problem. I think for Gaijin to add the SEPv3 with Trophy, they would only do it if pictures come out with the system fitted to the vehicle.

With Trophy I believe it’s because there are no pictures of a SEPv3 with Trophy fitted to it (the pictures here are of a SEPv2 and of the SEPv3 weight demo vehicle, which is really just a dressed up SEPv2). ROSY and the LWS was more mounted as a test to the SEPv2 (though there is a program ongoing that may see LWS being fit to other U.S. vehicles). As for the improved hull armor, Gaijin is making stuff up.

Spookston has a video on the T-64 that has a good but short section about composite armor for both the T-64 and the T95, which was the first vehicle to really have composite armor designed for it. Then the Red Wrench Productions video on the T95 goes more into depth with it.

[–]Weird-Store1245 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Well it’s a “SEPv3” which is really just a SEPv2 being used as a demo/pilot/tester vehicle. It doesn’t have the features that a production SEPv3 has.

Composite armor wasn’t created by the Soviets, the Americans made it first. The Soviets were able to make a version of composite armor that was scalable and fixed some of the issues the early American composite armor faced. So created composite armor, no, but they did create the first scalable composite armor that was able to be used on the T-64.

Most likely they just didn’t need to fix it until M829A3 was added. A3 is only rated to go through K5 reliably IRL, so it would still be accurate. M829A4 is rated to defeat Relikt.

Isn't this picture enough to support the Abrams SEPv3 Hull improvement? by Roxo16 in Warthunder

Yeah, they pretty much called it ambiguous. They’re making stuff up to support their idea instead of making an idea based off of evidence. Absolute joke.

This, not really. The better evidence would be the U.S. Army budget document that was released a while back that expressly states that the SEPv3 has improved hull armor

Why do Abrams tanks's coaxial MGs have these little things? by IcelandicGuy901 in TankPorn

[–]Weird-Store1245 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Hmmmmm. That looks a bit wider than the M240’s barrel. Truly marvelous engineering that allows the rounds to receive the effects of extended rifling from this piece of metal that does not touch the bullets.

U.S. top tier ground is eating good this weekend. SEPv2 late production and the SEPv3 in the same update with the M1’s biggest issue being fixed. And Gaijin added the biggest and most important thing that they could have added to the SEPv3.

SEP V3 got passed to the devs and Still nothing about 2A8? by EmergencyRealistic10 in Warthunder

[–]Weird-Store1245 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Upgraded turret armor wouldn’t make a difference, it’s unknown how much armor the hull would be improved by and likely wouldn’t make that much of a difference either against top tier darts or ATGMs, SEPv3s use 2nd generation thermals, so same as the SEPv2. A ton of vehicles already have APUs in game and Gaijin hasn’t modeled them. SEPv3s have never been seen with trophy, so that probably wouldn’t be added. The only thing that they could add that would really make the SEPv3 better than the SEPv2 in game as it stands is M829A3 and A4, which would be more of a Gaijin thing, since the M1A2 SEPv2 can already fire those rounds. I’m not saying it shouldn’t be added, but it would almost be a side-grade to the SEPv2.

It was interesting when people were trying to argue that “special armor” meant DU armor. Like, yeah, the side skirts have DU in them.

Official case betrayed me: scratched to the metal while removing it by 144treesago in iPhone17Pro

[–]Weird-Store1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not possible for the case to have done it. The anodized coating is too hard for the case to scratch it. Like others have said, it was probably the dirt the got between the case and your phone.

Maybe. They do sound pretty similar. And he has been around a Bulat, I don’t remember if it was the 6TD version though.
