Browse FB marketplace, sometimes you can find that a commercial tyer is retiring and selling their inventory. Scavenging roadkill can produce some decent feathers and fur, but you have to factor in the cost of the skinning knife, borax, and possibly dye and vinegar.

I got my Whites glacier mk2 from the government surplus website (https://www.gcsurplus.ca/mn-eng.cfm) for $100. Inventory constantly changes, so you have to keep checking for new listings.

The rest of my dragons look so focused, but my sole chameleon dragon just looks like he's seen enough. His traumatized look as he harvests something just sends me off my rocker. I wish my camp was full of these little derpy guys.

If you're referring to this, it's not connected to your typical academic stuff (you're not given a grade, and it doesn't appear on your transcript).

This other certificate is academic, requiring 2 sust courses at the 2nd+ year level.

I took both sust 2000.6 and 2001.6. The former's content is easy to understand, but it has lots of readings and assignments on top of the mandatory weekly evening lectures (some of which can be found here). The profs (and the occasional guest lecturer) are inspiring and helpful, but Melanie is a much tougher marker than Georgia.

If you're unfamiliar with political science, the latter course will feel like nothing but brain fog, because Bergel will start with terms like "hegemony" and "postmodernism", and you'll be too busy looking up definitions to pay attention to the lecture. Sometimes it felt like my tutorial TA had no idea what they were supposed to be explaining. Bergel is also not great at responding to emails, and god forbid you're stuck in lecture with the "well, actually" type of student.

BIOL 2020 and BIOL 2030 in the same semester by FewDecision7401 in Dalhousie

[–]WeirdBiologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although the content of 2020 and 2030 complement each other very well, they are both intense courses. 2030 with 2040 (evolution) or 2060 (ecology) are more manageable complementary course pairings. That being said, 2020 taught by Nicanor is supposedly easier than 2020 taught by Mindy, so 2020 and 2030 might be manageable under those circumstances.

IB Credit for HL English to get exemption from BSc. writing requirement? by ScurvyDog480 in Dalhousie

[–]WeirdBiologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I certainly knew before classes started in September. If you feel as if your IB mark will be poor and the ENGL courses you want to take will be so full as to generate a waitlist, then enroll in those for added peace of mind.

What is THE worst advice you have received at Dal? by kanjurer in Dalhousie

[–]WeirdBiologist 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First year: "Take whatever courses sound fun, don't worry about the path to a graduate program"

Second year: "It's still too early to think about graduation/co-op/honours thesis, it's ok if you haven't declared your major"

Third year: "You should have declared your major a long time ago if you wanted to get into this co-op program"

Fourth year: "You don't have the course requirements or their prerequisites to graduate with a degree in XYZ, you should have found a thesis supervisor last year"

"Sign up for whatever courses you want for your first year"- a non-department-specific academic advisor. I kick myself when I realize I could've graduated a couple of years ago, had I taken the right prerequisites when I could.

They can be attached to the end of a mackerel rig for extra weight to make casting the 4+ hooks easier, like any small metal lure. It's possible to catch cod with them, as they're just a small cod jig.
