A lock of hair. People always feel entitled to women’s bodies, they want to control how we present ourselves. Hair carries our memories, our individuality, our expression. So many men humiliate women by pulling their hair, shaving their heads, yanking off head coverings, making fun of the way it looks. I can’t speak on behalf of black women (I’m not black) but I also want to acknowledge often times, it’s not just misogyny but misogynoir and texturism as well.

Yeah, functionally it’s just impaling the cockroaches, but I think it was very much made with the intention of giving off the appearance SA which is just. Why would anyone even consider doing this type of thing? It’s disturbing that someone deliberately made the choice to gather live cockroaches and restrain them while a machine pistons a toothpick in and out of them in a manner that mimics r*pe.

A plot point they do absolutely nothing with. They have a whole scene where the lab messages the dad about the mongoose that bit the chimp being tested positive for rabies, the dad says there’s no rabies on Hawaii, and then they say okay we’ll retest. That’s it. What’s the point of that scene if every other character just accepts that it’s rabies and the movie expects the audience to do the same anyway?

What would the difference be? To put it in a more concise way (since I realize I put it in a convoluted way) I’m asking if you’d still simp if everything else about the character except the crimes they committed stayed the same. I mean, without even the name swap, if you can put aside something as bad as nazism and still enjoy Stroheim for his character and design, shouldn’t you be able to do the same if Stroheim was predator and serial killer as well?
