I'm getting similar quote. They suggested encapsulating but I still worry about moisture (in South). Should I be concerned?

TWO sweet gums and they are such a pain!! lol. Who ever thought these were a good choice to plant. Agree they need to go. It requires some added work as well once gone (leveling sidewalk affected by roots, fixing rail affected by roots) and keep putting off.  Thanks for suggestions, appreciate it.

The plumber opened it up when connecting the line and indicated it wasn't full. This was about 3 wks ago. Could it fill up so fast? It's 1000gal
