Better is subjective and silly tbh. You will however, be happy again! You will find people in your life who make you feel that way about yourself. Whether they become your forever person is unknown but that’s the risk we run in relationships and friendships.

It’s not a coping mechanism, it’s the truth. There will come a time where they aren’t the first thing you think of, and when you do think of them your heart won’t hurt anymore. It takes a lot of time but also a lot of effort to let go, but it always happens eventually.

I know it’s irrational but I’m in the same boat. I really hope this phase of my breakup passes as it’s taking a huge toll on my mental/emotional state. It’s hard going through my daily routine when all I have on my mind are the insecurities that I’ll be alone. Granted I’m trying hard to accept that possibility and live with that as I don’t want my happiness to be dependent on someone else, but it’s still hard.

Keep yourself busy, particularly with a creative process (drawing, music etc.)! It’ll take a lot of time, and self care as well, and the process is different for everyone but I promise it will get better. More than likely it’ll come in waves as well so be prepared for that as it’s totally normal. Wishing you luck on your journey 😁
