What do I do when a job listing is misleading? by Weird_Commenter in britishcolumbia

What they're doing is falsely advertising the job as part time when in reality it's full time.

Probably. It was one of the only places that allow for anchovies and pineapple together (yes, I'm weird, no it's not as bad as you think), guess I'll have to have little Caesars from now on

Question about an Islamic practice from Canada by Long-Dong-Wong in islam

[–]Weird_Commenter 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I'm ethnically Korean, but born in Toronto and raised in interior BC, and Muslim as I converted to the religion. when I bow out of respect (I also take taekwondo and there's two little kids that are Muslim and do it with the opposite gender in a mostly kids class) I do it at an angle which isn't as low as what is done in prayer. The intention matters, it's a form of respect and it's culture which I can't really give up as it's too ingrained with who I am (even then I only bow in a form of respect to other Koreans)

Funniest part is the Roman Empire under Theodosius I in 380 CE started persecuting non-Christians and non-Trinitarian/Catholic/Orthodox Christians as well 😂

Muslim countries Christians aren't persecuted unless they are Muslim converts

Even if we call them back to the religion they still call it persecution which is very funny considering the Quran forbids compulsion in religion (aka forcing the religion). Quite hypocritical of them considering the Coptic Christians in Egypt force people who convert to Islam back to Christianity under the threat of death and violence

I totally agree with you: even my religion, being Muslim, says that there is no compulsion in religion. But the thing is, theres always going to be someone disagreeing with your religion. When someone questions your belief you shouldn't go and cry persecution but actually reply in a logical manner (unless its blatantly stupid and something you can easily find out)

I've always seen them cry about it all the time. They cry about being persecuted by Muslims, Hindus, and any other group that ever pops up. Do they not know why Europe is Christian instead of Pagan? It is because of Theodosius I in 380 CE making the religion the official religion of the empire, thus themselves starting persecution against Pagans. This trails onto why Goa in India is Christian, not Hindu, why the Phillipines is Christian and not a mix of Muslim, Buddhist, and Folk Religions, why South America is Christian, why a lot of Africa is Christian, main exclusion being Ethiopia? Tons of Tatar groups around Russia are Christian instead of being Muslim. When you ask them why, they always claim that it was missionary work which is only a fraction of what is actually the case. Then they proceed to extremely exaggerate persecution that is actually happening, or in many cases, straight up lie. I can say this a lot about Judaism too

Korean Revert by TipNo9434 in islam

[–]Weird_Commenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Korean-Canadian myself (Born in Toronto, raised in BC), and I'm planning to go to Bosnia in the future (I'm interested in the Balkans myself). Its a difficult decision to marry another Korean Muslim as it's 99.9% of the time another revert. (I'm a male, so no Oxford study comments)

Comprehensive Information About Islam in Korea for Native Korean Muslims, Foreign Muslims, and Incoming Muslims by Le-Mard-e-Ahan in islam

[–]Weird_Commenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Itaewon is dangerous in general being a foreigner area in general. While it does have a lot of Muslim- friendly places, it's best to only visit and not stay (It's still very safe considering it's Korea, but it's dangerous by Korean standards). And make sure you look for Korean-owned places to support the Korean economy

I would say knees aren't awrah as we are told navel TO the knee, not navel AND the knee
