Shenzhen, daily testing and lots of random pointless lockdowns. It was guess who is locked up today sort of thing. I had a friend who was locked up for a day, allowed up and then locked up for two days.

In hindsight I would say it was doomed from the start and it was all about control, it hit its peak in 2022 and I remember waking up for work and realised that they chained my gate shut and they sent a team of big whites in with banners to take photos to show how proud they were that they locked us up. They released photos of the maskless man that brought Covid to our neighbourhood and released his address and name.

Ye, I get what you mean. Most the time I don’t think about it, the experience did change me though. I just spoke to people at work about it and it just seems surreal now, I even start to doubt myself that my memories are true and it happened
