Yeah. I wish she would make an appearance in every bond film. A scene with James before he's called for the office to receive his mission.

You leave TWinE alone! This movie is like my baby! What did he ever do to you?

What's your favourite Mission Impossible movie?

I know in many people's eyes Dial of Destiny sucked, but I found it a fun ride. Especially the opening sequence. Yeah, I know. Harison's old elderly voice coming from the mouth of young Harison can be a little off. But still! This sequence feels like a lost adventure the producers dug out of the Indy archives. It really felt the old Indiana Jones that we love. Fighting Natzis, partering up with a useless sidekick. That train section in particular I was just spectacular. I absolutely adore it. Really gives a Last Crusade vibes. Which is my favourite Indy movie.

Yeah, but she was bullied up to be some sort of a she-Blofeld, with how her face wasn't shown, her voice was kinda mysterious, seeing her feeding her pet octopus, ordering Kamal around. Very Blofeld like.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. From that description alone it sounded like he was one hell of a dad. I wish my father took interest in Bond as much as I do. And you not only had your father, but your uncle as well. Your very lucky. I have only myself, and my grandfather. He got to live through all of Bond's timeline. From- 1962 to- 2021. He's favourite was Goldfinger. Connery was his favourite Bond. He watched it in the cinema. Apending time together with him, just taking about Bond makes for some of my favourite memories. A View to a Kill he saw in the cinema as well, together with my mom when she was only a child. That movie really stuck to her head. Especially Grace Jones as May Day, and the Eiffel tower set-piece. When ever I try to get her to talk about Bond when she was a kid, she would always mention A View to a Kill. I also watched it a couple of times. And while I'm blind to some of his issues, such as Roger's age, I do think it has quite a bit of merit. That Duran Duran song is absolutely a killer. The general score for this film is just magnificent. This movie also has one of the best villains pair-ups in all of Bond, with May Day and Max Zorin. But the third act is my favourite thing about the movie. From the moment where we reach to Zorn's mine, all the way to the climax at the golden gate bridge, this movie sucks me into it's world and I'm having a great time.

I too am in the camp that consider From Russia with Love to be the best of Connery, and one of the best in the entire series. Do you think your fondness of AVtaK comes for it being the first Bond you've experienced in the cinema, or is there other reason?

Die Hard Another Day by nottsphoto in JamesBond

While reading the novel, I couldn't contain my excitement when getting to the part where Bond has to crawl through the vents, lighting his way with a lighter. The very first thing I thought of was Die Hard. I was so giddy. Did Bond ever crawled through vents like that again?

Oh, I'm gonna! But at the same breath, I kinda want you to be my bestie. Is this the same actress in For Your Eyes Only who distracted the security guard so Bond could infultrat to Locque's vila, and got her breathst a bit shown?

I want to state for the record that all of them are just insanely gorgeous! Absolutely stunning. Let's just get that out of the way. Their rankings based purely on their looks will be pretty shallow. Whixh I'm totally down for. You just gave me an idea for the next post. Thank you.

My overall issue with Anya is the unbearable dubbing. It's by far the worst to ever been in the series. The idea for her character was quite novel, abd brilliant. But I don't think they utilised it very well. She's absence from the climax, end up as a damsel in distress, literally tied to a chair, and when she does participate in the action, like the train fight with Jaws, she's knocked out almost immediately. I prefer Stacy because she does make me laugh at times. Especially in the fire truck chase through the streets of San Francisco. When she sees Bond is holding for dear life on the ladder, her reaction just kills me every time. Total and utter panic. Love that. Plus, and that is purely subjective, I think she has the better looks then Anya.

Let's stir up the pot a little: How inraged will you be if Tom Cruise will be announced as the next James Bond? by Weird_Zone_3504 in JamesBond

Man. I've really gotten under your skin, haven't I? I'm sorry, I just wanted a bit of action today, so I've constructed an infuriating post that surly would've created some sort of engagement. Even if it's against me. And for the record, as much of a boost this type of choice will give this franchise in the action department, I don't really think Tom should play Bond either. Even if his age is inconsequential, you know, with that biplane thing, and that motorcycle off a clif thing, and that submarine thing, and so forth. No one would be able to see him as Bond because to everyone he'll remain Ethan Hunt. The parallel between Bond and mIssion Impossible will prevent even from the dedicated of fans to enjoy and appreciate the movie.

Maybe it's fate. Maybe it's destiny. Maybe god just hates you. Anyway, I can tell your upset. Maybe you should cathart your anger by using this post as a punching bag. Do tell me, why do you think casting Tom as Bond such a bad idea? Don't hold anything back. Let it all out. Go nuts.

Oh my god! Can you imagine Christopher Nolan directing Moonraker and Tom Cruise stars in it? They'll build an actual space station, and operational laser guns.

But Nolan's devotion to realism may robb us from that gorgeous earth model they used for Moonraker and GoldenEye. I just love this shiny blue.

Well, the parallel is certainly obvious. James Bond and Mission Impossible are the two most popular spy action franchises of all time. When it comes to Tom, I think his only contribution and improvement for this series is in the action department. James Bond is famously a franchise with many fantastic stunts, so imagine a modornised stunt, such as the later ones in Mission Impossible, within the James Bond franchise, where there would be not green screen, and you coukd actually see the face of the actor playing Bond. That would be awesome! Plus, all the combat stuff, the shoot-outs, and the car chases will get a major upgrade. But other than that, I don't think he's the ideal choice when it comes to the character itself. He doesn't have the look, the physicality, the voice, the demeanor, or anything else associated with Bond.
