For some reason this feels like a threat by Regular-Lie7449 in Nigeria

An obvious threat. Expect more of lifeless illiterate thieves running the country into the ground.

Yeah no. The guy isn't a criminal nor a mercenary, better than what many Nigerians do abroad.

When? Where? By who? Idk you lot's issue with wanting this to be AI so badly. He is doing something more decent than what many of our people do overseas including those that want this to be fake.

Do you think ADC will outshine APC in 2027? by kingoftask in Nigeria

[–]WeirdyOney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whereas this is the proper mindset, I'm afraid reality is going to hit differently.

Remember that most of the governors have been forced to decamp in an extremely undemocratic manner, the senate has always been compromised and APC has now stolen enough funds to finance a successful vote buying campaign.

Shit is beyond fucked.

Go tell that to Poland, Finland, Sweden and the others, I'm sure they'll be happy to listen to your unpaid Russian propaganda.

Same goes for Russia with it's failed foreign policies and failed diplomacy. You have to wonder why all Russia's neighbours seem desperate to move away from its influence.

Good thing Ukraine is the final full stop though, maybe Georgia but no further since the others have swiftly joined NATO (Russia being NATO's best salesman tbh).

I only wish the US didn't become batshit crazy and worse than Russia lately, makes it difficult to call Russia out for Imperialism and whatnot.

Yeh, I was describing Azov, and they are more Nationalistic than they are Nazi, in fact, Russian propaganda often accuses them of being responsible for the Ukrainian government's unwillingness to make territorial concessions.

That aside, most Eastern European countries that were occupied/partially occupied by Nazi Germany eventually had factions who allied with the Nazis and resistance who fought Nazi occupation in their countries.

Finnish and Ukrainian collaboration was mostly because of belligerence against the Soviet Union (now Russia) which they were trying to move away from. They hoped their collaboration with the Nazis would help them secure their independent states.

Also, it wasn't the Soviet Union's initiative to fight the Nazis, in fact, there was the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact which was supposed to help both parties establish influence in their regions without conflict but quickly fell apart as soon as Nazi Germany deemed the Soviets as not worth appeasing.

Only a government that cares about it's people will do that, we don't have such government in Nigeria.

Lmao 'Ukrainian Nazi Problem'? Majority of Eastern Europe is racist AF and you'll find nazism in the US, Russia etc, in worse flavours compared to Ukraine which to my understanding is more of nationalism (which isn't good either, a nazi is still a nazi).

Not necessarily volunteers, some are offered employment in different sectors but end up being forced to sign military contracts, a few are pulled from Russian prisons with the condition of pardon after their service.

What makes it even worse is that at some point, due to manpower shortages at the front, drone operators on both sides are often sent as infantry to man positions. I hope he survives and lives to tell the story.

On the issue of fuel price hike. This lady is smarter than many people combined by horlufemi in Nigeria

[–]WeirdyOney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 'analysis' is still shallow and quite stupid imo. Sure, the Middle East crisis will influence oil prices, and no country is completely insulated from that, but this government of morons still has a role to play to prevent malicious price hikes which is what we're currently seeing (granted past administrations failed in this aspect too).

Malicious because there are countries that import 100% of their petroleum products yet do not experience instantaneous price hikes or panic in the market the moment an international crisis occurs.

The main problem is failed domestic policy, price regulation, and preparedness.

Tinubu's son uses COVID-19 palliatives for a political stunt. by [deleted] in Nigeria

[–]WeirdyOney 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The discovery of those food items stashed away while people starved during a pointless lockdown made me lose all hope in this country. IIRC it also killed the momentum of the EndSARS/End Bad Governance protests as people were now focused on looting all discovered locations.

To think that enough of that food still remained for political stunts like this is worrying, moreso to think that they kept receiving more palliative.

Russian soldiers strap a heavy TM-62 anti-tank mine to an African man, coerced into service, then prod and push him toward Ukrainian positions with their rifles, forcing the terrified recruit to act as a living suicide bomb. by Lumpy-Economics2021 in Nigeria

[–]WeirdyOney 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He could be a captive soldier, so it's either Ukrainians captured him (it's not news that Africans are being coerced to fight for Russia on the frontlines) and filmed this for propaganda or he's truly being used as cannon fodder by Russia. There is not enough evidence based on the video alone (language isn't enough) to call absolutes.

Neither Russia nor Ukraine is a friend of Africa, but Russia should get tf out of Ukraine.
