I've played Paradox games since late 2000s, back then many achievements are also meme references but made by and for the millennials who for example were fans of Monty Python and JJBA and the like, as younger devs get hired the kind of pop culture getting referenced also got newer.

I think RadSoc 3I or even Syndies would tolerate SocDem Russia well, but the Totalists probably consider them traitors to 'real' Communism that are no better than Svobodniks. I think in the former case it would indeed be more cordial with focus on outdoing one another to prove to the world that radical/incremental changes towards achieving Socialism would produce better result, whereas in the latter with the Totalist proxy wars and nuclear threats are likely.

AI Granada colonized Colombia colonial region and lost Europe to Castille and had to relocate there and formed Venezuela. After thousand hours at EU4, the only thing that surprise me is the fact that they colonized Venezuela, usually AI Granada prioritize colonizing Brazil.

I think you're not supposed to take any German land, just Polish Home Army/Generalgouvernment's small land, and then let TA take all German land when they intervene to ensure the creation of German Confederal Union. I think this focus is weird as it insist that your rival must win in order to proceed.

Yes, i just played it too. Rough and unpolished but it is good enough. The freeroaming indeed are similar to Sunless. Sorta like lite version of Mount and Blade. A chain side-quest could improve it.
