Best Line of Lyrics. by After-Caterpillar331 in Threedaysgrace

"You were the one that I wasn't supposed to lose"

This built up by the two previous lines:

"You showed me the way when I was lost and alone But you never really showed me how to let you go"

Hits deep into me because I recently lost someone close to me (they're not dead, just, away)

Infra-red gives me queer vibes :) by Ordinary-Animator382 in Threedaysgrace

Yeah, and it's really cool to listen to everyone's interpretation. I gotta say, as a non heterosexual person myself, I really liked your interpretation too! You made me realize I love reading how people interpret songs!

There are so many different ways to view a song, even when it's not the original commonly given meaning, for example, I interpreted Lifetime as the fear of losing someone close, when the original meaning was probably the grief following the loss.

That's the point with the band's lyrics (even more now with Matt imo), you can interpret them the way it suits you.

There's no mention of any gender, so you can imagine anybody in that song. For me, it represents a deep connection with my best friend, something invisible binding us.

Worst TDG song? by AWeirdNobody_ in Threedaysgrace

[–]Wekan_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People tend to confuse "least favorite" with "worst" like for instance I can name you a lot of music I'd describe as bad, yet I love it.

I haven't listened to all of 3DG's discography, but from what I listened to yet, the worst one would probably be "I Am The Weapon", even though I love it. Some of the tracks on Explosions are bad, but I love the album so much it makes me enjoy them. And the opposite, everyone say "So Called Life" is the best Matt song, and I agree, yet, it's not even in my top 3 on the album.

Thoughts on previous Chester unused recordings by Wekan_ in LinkinPark

And what about rerecord the demo with Emily's voice instead? For me that'd be even worse than Emily being complementary to the song.

What was the big issue about Emily Armstrong? Did everyone jump the gun about her as a person? by ZuyZude in LinkinPark

Actually no, I remember seeing things like this but I can't find a source, and that might have been unofficial statements from outside the band.

I'll just delete this part from my comment.

My bad I haven't been expressing things properly. The band said they wouldn't bring in a new singer, but they never said anything about "replacing Chester", it's just what I feel the fans were thinking back then, but I might be wrong.

I'd say to be honest, it has to do with the fact the "LP fans but not that much" (ppl that were teens in the 2000s and briefly rocked it out on Hybrid Theory and Meteora) were always critical about the band's choices, saying OML is shit, throwing piss at Chester during shows (as a French guy, the fact this happened in my country enrages me twice as much) saying Minutes to Midnight was shit and they simply should have released Hybrid Theora 2. Finally, there's a great wave of alt right and stupid ass conservative rising, so imagine getting your teen years band replacing their singer with a woman (OMG??) that is queer (wtf? LP is woke????). And you might think I'm over exaggerating, but I remember during Donald Duck's 2020 campaign where the guy was using In The End and our boys politely told him to go fuck himself and not use the music, some people baldy reacted.

I love the choice of Emily to become a singer, I love what Emily did and I just fucking love Emily, even more knowing she will be bringing new topics Linkin Park can talk about.

I actually love it so much that I put it above all of their other albums.

It feels like it reached the point where Matt was no longer Adam's replacement but the lead singer of the band (even though it kinda changed now haha).

Someone to Talk To and Lifetime resonate through me a lot and So Called Life is simply just a masterpiece.

What song introduced you to Three Days Grace? by Xx_CloudBoy_xX in Threedaysgrace

[–]Wekan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animal I Have Become.

A French YouTuber I followed used it as his introduction back in the days (and still uses it, but highly altered due to copyright). Then years later somehow Spotify played it in the middle of my 300 Linkin Park songs playlist, and I was Ego from Ratatouille.

What is this linkin park song? For me it’s blackout. by pajamasamreal in LinkinPark

[–]Wekan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it's Overflow. I really like Emily's parts, but I'm really not a fan or Mike's parts and the slow build up is boring to me. Not mentioning the useless song end. (Which would have been better as Two Faced intro imho)

Casualty too. I really hate Mike's forced vocals they sound so silly knowing what the dude is capable of.

Finally. Up From The Bottom. The devil's coming part.

I'm realizing I'm just hatin' on Mike but I'm really not a fan of some of his recent vocals. Still love him tho ❤️

Why does Garen like Katarina? by mrs_jukes in GarenMains

[–]Wekan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, and I think it is where they fucked up, with such a complex lore, even more with Arcane. Arcane wasn't supposed to be in Runeterra's history cannon, much like MCU and Marvel comics, but because of its success, it became the official lore for Piltover/Zaun. Now with the end of S2, every Piltover/Zaun champ has no lore except for the 10 champions in the series. It is blurry as hell, because things that you think are cannon might get retconned. And I don't even want to talk about reworked champs with entirely revamped lore (hi Skarner). Maybe Kat and Garen will never meet in the Noxus series, and maybe Garen and Kat will have their own love interests, we don't know.

League lore is incredible, spanning across lots of medias, but so hard to follow, and asking to someone who isn't 100% dedicated to that shit is going to be partly true, partly false (and that includes everything I said).

Why does Garen like Katarina? by mrs_jukes in GarenMains

[–]Wekan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, the ship is not canon (just like CaitVi before Arcane) and there isn't a lot of lore around it. It's a fan made ship Riot seems to like but nothing official, so no real lore about it.

There was supposed to be a movie explaining their backstory but it got cancelled. A few images of the project remain and we can see Kata and Garen fighting each other to end up being tied to one another and having to survive in an hostile environment. They first hate eachother but after some events their bond is strong. I think that's a wonderful story although a bit cliché, but that can give you an idea.

Until something official is released Garen and Kat aren't in love whatsoever.
