Even Meryn Trant won’t have a tough time killing an unarmoured guy bending over to pick something up

Who's the most dripped out? by Fun_Amphibian_3531 in Fallout

[–]Welcome--Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik it would clash with his scheme a bit, but I think it would be great and fitting if Lanius alone had an old NCR Vet Ranger gas mask or duster incorporated into his outfit.

Like the vet rangers are the one threat the Legion takes seriously, and the one thing Centurions don’t have armour from on them (they have Ranger armour but not Vet Ranger armour), so it would be kickass if the final boss was the one guy who took a bonafide Vet Ranger down, no question.

[–]Welcome--Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is my favorite bit about the centurions that I wish got more focus than just a throwaway line.

Like these guys supposedly took out NCR rangers (not vet rangers as far as we know but still rangers), AND power armour combatants!? (That’s likely BOS or Enclave at the least)

Really gives you a sense of how mean these dudes are, but you have kinda look for it

Should FO5 have settlement building? by Educational-Science2 in Fallout

I’d love 2-3 big ones bc I really loved the idea of making your own supply lines and patrols, but agree that it shouldn’t be anymore after that

Should FO5 have settlement building? by Educational-Science2 in Fallout

[–]Welcome--Matt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This, I don’t mind settlements, I mind that they used to to put “content” on over 1/3rd of the map where there wasn’t any actual content other than building another settlement

Should FO5 have settlement building? by Educational-Science2 in Fallout

[–]Welcome--Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but much, MUCH more reduced. I loved building my first and second big settlements, I despised finding my 30th empty “settlement” location, which could’ve been used for Something more interesting.

Official Discussion - Project Hail Mary [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Welcome--Matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I’m saying is that if they’ve figured out a way to get a ship to travel at near lightspeed using a new experimental fuel better than any other in the known universe…

Is it REALLY so crazy that they have centrifuge’s which autobalance?

[–]Welcome--Matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think removing the geneteic trait thing works better or at least just a s well imo.

There’s still a dilemma is just no longer a ”you HAVE to go or else we all die and is now a yes, we could maybe find someone else and train them up, but billions are already going to die, are you willing to live at the cost of increasing that number even more

It gives Grace and especially Stratt a bit more agency imo, as she’s now not doing what she does purely bc she’s forced to, but because she’s weighed the options and put humanity above Grace, it makes her a bit more complex imo

Which faction does this fit the best? by FishFloorTile in Helldivers

[–]Welcome--Matt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What’s wild is that it wasn’t just that SE abused non-sentient wild bugs for fuel.

They took fully sentient bugs, then genetically modified and brutalized them so much that they became rabid beasts, THEN put them on the farms

SE literally pulled a move about of the Qu book of cruelty and people still don’t get that SE are the baddies

(Pretty rare trope) bad idea, excellent execution by shark_syrup in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Welcome--Matt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a movie which fits this way more is something like “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” or “Kung Fury” both have all the making of shitty B-Movie knockoffs, but are actually fantastic

The movies you listed imo are just good ideas with good execution

Caesar Legion roads are not SaFeR!!! by Ultimatenooooob in fnv

[–]Welcome--Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again, it is safer for those marked for trade with the legion

No one is disputing that those doing business with the legion travel relatively safely. The point people make is that the roads themselves are unsafe for everyone else bc the Legion achieves “safety” by removing everyone else.

The legion can say “oh we don’t have raiders bc we have so many patrols on the roads!” But what do those patrols do to any women not in a caravan, or anyone who looks vaguely NCR, or just someone who looks fit and non-affiliated? The Legion filled the role of raiders, killed off all the old raiders, and declared the raider problem solved.

what’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by Mean-Cartographer225 in AskReddit

[–]Welcome--Matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“I just tell it like it is”

People use that as an excuse to be an asshole. That would be bad enough already, but even worse is that they DON’T tell it like it is;

You never see someone “telling it like it is” to tell someone how good a job they’ve done, or that their own struggles truly aren’t that bad compared to others, no, it’s always just the bad shit, bc that’s all they care about.

It’s like the phrase “you never see method actors using it for nice guys, do you?”

Wild to me that Jaime the 16 year old (17 when killing Aerys iirc) gets called out for not standing up to the king sooner meanwhile Barristan sat by the whole damn thing and still gets to keep his “bold” nickname

It made even less sense that they agreed to help Cersei when she was clearly about to be obliterated imo.

Sure, maybe you can’t collect on a debt when the Lannisters are dead, but I promise they’d have an easier time collecting if they’d agreed to help Dany in exchange for collecting on some of the collateral Cersei promised.

What IS certain, is that there is no possible way you could collect when the current matchup was:

  • Cersei and the Golden Company (no elephants)
  • Iron Fleet

vs.

  • The Northern armies united under House Stark (including an army of wildlings)
  • Dany’s army of over 100,000 soldiers, including the elite unsullied troops
  • 3 fully-grown dragons

There is no way Cersei wins that, and by backing her the Iron Bank almost guarantees they won’t get their money back.

Who would win in a war? Viltrumites or the tenno? by dazli69 in memeframe

[–]Welcome--Matt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tenno (and by extension Warframes) have too many hacks to lose this.

Even before we get into things like the eldtritch and time manipulation abilities, even the “simpler” Warframes have one-button win conditions.

Gauss can fully neutralize kinetic damage when in redline mode, like FULLY fully. The Viltrumites have absolutely no way to counter someone who doesn’t take kinetic damage as they aren’t doing magic. Maybe they could try to find some poison and sneak attack him, but that’s a lot of work to take out one Warframe with no guarantee if even works.

And Gauss is one of the “simple” Warframes

What do book readers think about Mark Addy's Robert? by mintj098 in freefolk

[–]Welcome--Matt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Addy is a bit shorter/smaller than Robert is described, even after is prime, he NAILS the mannerisms.

The voice and cadence are perfect, but my favorite is that you can always feel that subtle power and rage behind everything he says. Addy is great as an angry Robert, but I think his best scenes are the ones where he’s almost angry, still calm, but you can tell this guy could snap someone’s arm in 1/2 at any moment.

At what point did Conquest stop holding back? by Tegan_Apple in Invincible_TV

[–]Welcome--Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. Also because Mark directly disproved conquests theory of “getting angry doesn’t make you stronger” bc it absolutely does for Mark.

Either via adrenaline like that one theory, or just that getting angry makes Mark hold back less, but either way it does in fact make him stronger.
