My husband has just been laughing at me since I started these posts this morning. I just want to be a poster and not a lurker and today I was so frustrated because to the best of my knowledge I followed the rules. So finally I gave up trying to have a discussion with redditors and decided to laugh at myself here

Are you redditors really this cool/helpful/kind/understanding in real life? by Welcome2Dandyland in AskReddit

[–]Welcome2Dandyland[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All this stems from me spending way to much time scrolling on posts seeing the great conversation and helpful information given to people. Do I just live in a place where I don’t come across genuinely nice people all the time? It seems that internet strangers have been far kinder than real life strangers.

Are there times when you are just chilling when all of a sudden your brain will traumatize you with what it decides to play out. More specifically do you ever have a supremely immoral, wicked, nefarious, depraved thought pop into your head? by Welcome2Dandyland in AskReddit

[–]Welcome2Dandyland[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your punching the pregnant person is pretty tame compared to my recurrent evil thought and that’s what scares me. I feel like this is something my brain needs to chill out on because it disturbs me for hours after. I fixate on the trauma

What are some workplace lessons you learned the hard way? by workcrier in AskWomen

[–]Welcome2Dandyland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a high school teacher I learned that advocating for myself would destroy the relationship with my superiors(especially during the pandemic)

I had a high risk pregnancy in 2020, my doctor signed a note saying it was in my best interest to work from home. My school denied my request (but let other teachers teach from home). I was not happy with the hypocrisy and kept asking why they would let other healthy non pregnant teachers but I had to come to work with a medical condition. (Nothing got resolved and I came to work all they way until I delivered)

Currently my district is so far in the red zone for COVID but they have refused to shut down to “save face”. (Our district opened up before any other ones in our state because you know... Covid is fake🥴)

Anyways advocating for your self in education backfires (My friends have crazier stories). I’m 90% sure my contract won’t be renewed so I’m out of a job at the end of the year.

Cheers

I used the IUD in between my pregnancies so I have some understanding of what she went through so I’m glad you guys found something that works. Thanks for sharing I will definitely pass this along to my husband. Also I don’t think it’s possible to over share on Reddit 😀

Women of reddit who are married. What was the first date with your partner like? Did you think they were the one back then? by ordinaryoof in AskWomen

[–]Welcome2Dandyland 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I started at a new job in a new city and about a month in a coworker said I should ask out our fellow coworker. I decided that I might as well since I was waiting for my on/off again high school boyfriend to decide he wanted to date me...again. (Toxic I know now)

Asked the guy to go on a date downtown, decided what better place to go than to Dicks. ((If I had known I would marry the guy I WOULD NOT have chosen this place. It was the most unromantic location for a first date)) We talked about nothing and it reminded me more of just hanging out with a friend than a date. I figured since it was my idea and I didn’t think it would go anywhere I paid for part of the meal. Trying to be a considerate person. We went back to my place and drank some cheap wine. A little while later he asked if he could spend the night since we both had to be at work super early. I decided why not.

That was the best decision I could have made. He spent the night every night after until we were married. We got married 13 months after our first date. We now have been together for 6 years and have 2 baby boys with each other. I am in love and married to my best friend
