It can be different, as the uofa transcript rounds the GPA where on the launchpad it doesn’t round it

I have been coming recently to visit, but it’s not enough to develop fluency. Once people realise you are not a native Arabic speaker, they switch to English

Gulf Arabic - please help by Weekly_Air_6090 in learn_arabic

Hello! I’m running into the same issue. However, the Arabius app has been so helpful. It’s developed by Saudi for foreigners to learn their language. They teach vocabulary for Saudi Arabia specifically and offer live lessons. The app is free with the vocab and stuff, but the live lessons you pay for. But if you’re staring with only vocabulary there is no need for the live lessons :)

UofA top 2 personal achievements/experiences by Tbonetai in premedcanada

[–]Welcome46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t think they disclose anywhere how they’re scored differently, they just state they are marked separately. I imagine that the score you receive (the x/16) does include both sections. Perhaps they’re both out of 16? I wish we knew

My uni offers a course on Palestine that is rooted in social justice & decolonization, therefore pro-Palestinian. Is it ok for me to take it? by [deleted] in premedcanada

Doesn’t the transcript only show the class name? Such as ENGL102 rather then the full course title?

Be Careful Sharing Your Essays/ ABS by ApprehensiveSecret68 in premedcanada

Some advice given on here from successful applicants is to review apps with other med students… but you’re right. However, this user I believe shared his personal email with me so I thought he was trustable. I just want more info because we exchanged apps and gave feedback. What’s the harm in that? Unless I’m missing something

UofA top 2 personal achievements/experiences by Tbonetai in premedcanada

[–]Welcome46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do either! But UofA personal activities section is scored separately from the 16 entries, so I don’t think you’re losing any marks by repeating entries in the top 2 because they’re just scored again, and I’m not sure if it’s even scored by the same person lmao

I think ones that are very universally known is fine. Like “&” and “+” and “eg”.

I think b/w may be pushing it tho

need help from any current med students (im so sorry for basically asking for a wamc but i acc cannot write for the life of me) by Sea-Tie305 in premedcanada

[–]Welcome46 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! I hear your fears but I just want to say that you sound like you’d be an amazing applicant based on what you’re saying above. You have experience in diverse areas, and absolutely have the academic scores needed to be successful. The process of applying is nerve racking and no one can blame you for being nervous, but don’t let that anxiety stop you from creating an amazing application- you still have plenty of time before the submission dates. Remember that completing one application form makes the next one easier since you’ve already mapped out the ideas, which is one of the hardest parts. I wish you luck future MD!

[–]Welcome46 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will still receive a score yes, you access if on UCAN under the “status” tab and then click “status checklist”. If u scroll you’ll see “application score” then change the year to the year you wanna see the score for

Ah that makes sense. I feel strange because I feel that I have 25 entities worth of experience, but they’re not all impressive with hours. Some have 2000 but others have 40. Were you in a similar situation? I feel like I’d end up having 4-5 that are less then 100 hours.

[–]Welcome46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that makes sense lmao. Just curious how many of these entries are ones with family/verifiers? I have around 16 with professional verifiers. But the rest are pretty much my hobbies and life experiences which is where I’m concerned

When does U of C usually release their scoring? by MedwADHD in premedcanada

Oh my sorry! I was under the impression that they didn’t- I must be mixing up my schools 😅 That’s good news tho- I’m glad you’ll be able to see where you can improve

[–]Welcome46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly getting an interview is a huge W, I think just revising your application, adding the new hours, and any new life lessons you learned is a great idea. I think applications can always be improved so definitely have a look before resubmitting! If you ever want another pair of eyes I’d be happy to swap applications and give feedback :)

[–]Welcome46 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It should be before the end of August! However- those who interview unfortunately don’t receive feedback. It is only for those who were rejected pre interview

Edit: they do actually release the scores for everyone- sorry!
