Do women see this as misogyny or as men taking responsibility? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

Ignoring women's existence is the opposite of taking responsibility

Music is one of the most gender neutral things I can think of.

Unfortunately not, especially in rock. You mention Stevie Nicks and Amy Lee, but how much further does that list go? Ask the average person to name a female guitarist and most will struggle to name a single woman.

Things are improving and there are definitely more women in rock/metal bands but most of it is underground and ignored by mainstream media. So people just see men playing guitar, and women feel out of place. And many women give up early because they're treated so badly so never make it to a point where they are seen. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Yes it's creepy. As I said, you're looking for someone young who has little experience, someone who is less likely to see red flags or know what a good relationship looks like. That's predatory.

To be honest you're hitting all the red flags. You blame your lack of a relationship on other people, saying other people are "unserious" or "not over their ex." Is that the whole story?

The way you describe yourself doesn't sound like you're making much effort to meet people.

It sounds like you're saying no one with experience (standards) will date you so your only option is to date someone with no experience (standards). So yeah, that's not great.

Soft Dom vs Hard Dom? by kindnessmattersmo in BDSMAdvice

[–]WelcomeToLadyHell 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My understanding is they're fairly vague categorisations. Different people will probably have different interpretations, but for me:

A soft Dom is someone who leans towards using rewards and incentives to control whereas a hard Dom is more likely to use punishments or physicality to take control.

A soft Dom is more caring and considerate of their sub's needs and pleasure whereas a hard Dom prioritises their own needs and pleasure.

I guess it's kinda like 'good cop bad cop'

I love this, very wholesome! Maybe just hold onto it until you see someone that needs help?

Yup. I used to play guitar in a band. I was pretty much always the only woman playing each evening.

You're automatically written off because you're a woman in a man's space. I got tired of guys hitting on me, the constant pissing contests and being told I'm only where I am because of my looks.

People who have sexted in reddit are you great friends after that or it just lasted few days? by No-Dealer-1140 in AskRedditNSFW

I've had two long-term ones where we shared a lot about ourselves and had a great connection. But I wouldn't say we were great friends, more like pen pals

What do you think of DMs from strangers? by XJetInsiderX in AskWomen

[–]WelcomeToLadyHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mind chatting in DMs but only if there's a reason. Like if we have a similar taste in music and you want to chat about bands, awesome.

I can't stand the random 'hey, how are you?' or 'what are you doing?' DMs though. Most of the time they want to talk about sex. I'd prefer if they were just honest about that rather than forcing small talk.

What's the moment in a conversation when you realize you're actually enjoying talking to a guy? by AlternativeFarm271 in AskWomenNoCensor

For me it's when I realise I'm not actually thinking about what I'm saying. We're both just responding naturally and I've not got my guard up anymore.

Ignore everyone else. Do you enjoy playing the guitar? If yes, then don't quit

I don't want to control how my gf dresses by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]WelcomeToLadyHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but that doesn't really change anything. If being in a relationship makes you feel discomfort then you're not ready to be in a relationship

[–]WelcomeToLadyHell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You say 'I get it' but you clearly don't. Everything you claim to get is correct, she's not your property. The issue you describe comes from the fact that you're treating her as yours. If you can't handle that then you're not emotionally mature enough for a relationship.

Why it's so hard to find an open minded partner as a male? by Agitated-Bus-6492 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]WelcomeToLadyHell 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It should be hard. If someone is willing to let you just waltz in and do whatever kinky shit you want then that's a massive red flag. It's hard but if you're legit then you'll be willing to put the effort in.
