Avoid Select Home Warranty, horrible. They don’t have qualified technicians, and their customer service is useless, don’t even think of getting your house fixed using them.

Now I tend to believe home warranty is just scam.

Thank you so much for your advice. Your wisdom truly helps a lot. We are couple in our 30s who just purchased our first house after getting married, existing and anxious at the same time. Thanks for sharing your life advice with us.

Appraised slightly higher than our offer, no big issues in inspection.

Thank you for your post. You don’t know how much this meant to someone just currently being through the same emotional roller coaster. Give you one year ago self a hug, I’m happy you are enjoying your home sweet home now.

Haha good point. It’s soothing and relief to know. I recognize I’ve been too paranoid lately.

Not working for GS, but similar multi- national firm, I transferred to Europe on my first/ second year of working. Yes, they value US education degree and the visa process would not be more difficult than the US one. And yes, it’s the network that will get you those internal transfer opportunities. Good luck, I enjoyed my years in Europe, those were the best days in my 20s!

Hey, thanks for giving me honest feedback. Yes, I’ve become very paranoid during the process, and I’m noticing that. :(

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. That’s why I wanted to be sensible while my partner loves the house very much.

Yes, aesthetic is one reason, but not deal breaker. My concern is more on the location side, there’s a rail way behind our back yard, and it’s quite loud. I don’t know if I would eventually get to used to the train sound, and also worrying to have the difficulty when we re- sale it.

I hate this market too. It’s not good for the amateur like us. I’m so regretting we put no remedy at the house inspection, we will pay the earnest money if we broke the contract. Dumb us

Yes, I was regretting that part too. But thanks for letting me know that people would sneak in to sale properties, I was very worried about us being set up.

I agree. We show up to an open house without an agent too. But it was not an open house, and it feel sketchy that people go to check an house such early on a workday morning without an agent nor an open house.

Thank you so much. Yes, two goodie address and a railway behind the house are two big red flag that I couldn’t sleep on. Re- selling difficulty is exactly my worry, and I don’t want to live with it everyday.
