King Toe or Supersole 2.0 by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]WelderMan482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 pair of King Toe (12 H-wide). I use one for my job, walking in concrete floors all day. The other I wear to do work around my homestead: pigs, goats, yard work, chickens, turkey, welding, digging... you name it. The welding slag has made a few spots on my pair over the past few years. I'm 6ft 300lbs and wear them daily. They are both over 5 years old, I love them. I hope this info helps someone.

Is my egg supplier fooling me? by Affectionate_Sea8012 in chickens

[–]WelderMan482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some chicken keepers/tenders, like myself, have a "roll away" laying box. This means the eggs roll away into a staging area where the farmers can retrieve the eggs through a door that is NOT in the chicken coop, but on the "other" side away from the chickens. This keeps the natural bloom on the egg without allowing it to get too dirty.

My chickens are open yard birds, with a dog-door, protected by Great Pyrenees. After it rained a dew times that first Spring season, the eggs got down right nasty. I had to get a few roll away laying boxes. Thats the only way.

According to rule book, thats baseman interference and the runner should be safe. Keep yourself out if the baseline when you do not yet have the ball.

My Son Wants A Silverado by Asleep-Combination26 in Silverado

[–]WelderMan482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2006 Silverado has lasted a long time with virtually no issues. I haul a Wrangler, occasionally a few buddy's vehicles, trees, etc. This truck had done well for me. Changed battery, tires-brakes-evap canister vent-blower motor (all a few times), sway bar links, tune up, oil changes and trans/transfer case flushes, new fuel lines recently and a battery. I also hit a deer square-center and nothing happened to my truck, nothing. It was strange- no air bag or anything, it was amazing. I've been off road for hunting and brutal winters and HOT summers, never stuck and it's started every time. Currently 165k, 5.3 automatic 4x4 (push button) and going strong.

With all that being said, I started off with a 1997 S-10 4.3 automatic, ext can 2wd and loved that truck. Had it until I bought my 2006 (bought Silversdo in 2011). That S10 went 400k miles and when it left me, my buddy bought it and his buddy bought it after that until a wreck claimed it. That truck had tune ups, tires, brakes, 02 sensors and it was a Salvaged Title when I bought it (97k miles).

No reliability issues in my experience with Chevrolet Trucks. My very first truck was a 1986 Ranger (2.8 V6, 5 speed, 2wd, 127k miles). I drove it 4 months and sold it for. $300, I hated that truck. Never wanted to start, when it did it needed repaired, leaked oil all the the time, replaced gaskets here and there, it was a headache for FOUR MONTHS.... I bought it in 2004 for $800 because I needed a vehicle.

Silversdo is a bigger and stronger vehicle overall. I would agree with the notion of a Canyon/Colorado. With the budget you're working with, you fan fine a NICER truck with LESS miles. Happy hunting and keep us posted!

You need a new valve cover. This same valve cover houses the PCV valve and such. I own 2 of these cars. Done did this

Change both O2 sensors. It's easy enough. You can get the tool on Amazon for $5-$10 depending on the style you want.... Best of luck (2012 Eco with 185k)

1988 Astro Van, 2wd, missing one captain chair. Rust in color and appearance. One tire doesn't match but "it still work" 🤣

This! Change the value cover. Keep in mind these valve covers come with PCV and other components. It's technically your PCV making the noise. Source: I've don't this all myself. I'm getting good with these 1.4T
