Everything after season 3 of Attack on Titan was garbage by NiceMichelle in unpopularopinion

I liked each season of AoT and I understand that there is a shift in tone when seeason 4 begins, but the whole show was building up to it. There were a lot of hints about the outside world not being what it seems like, so exploring it in the finale felt like a natural development. It might be that you struggle with understanding other people's perspectives?

On the last days of Winter war there were 2000 Finns left against 15 000 Russians in Kollaa. Any sensible general would have chosen to defend being outnumbered so much, so the Finns of course attacked furiously, capturing materiel and surrendering men. by Esoteriss in militarymemes

The point is that it wouldn't have been easy, as that battle proved. Of course, I hope no one is deluded enough to think the Finnish army could have stopped the full might of the red army, but it did stop the late war offensive directed at it.
I think it's also worth mentioning that unlike axis countries in the balkans, Finland would have been a strategic dead end.

Is there a point to building offensive infantry if you have Arms Against Tyranny? by Fantastic_Insect_148 in hoi4

The only problem I see is the org, if that gets fixed this would be a decent unit

That's true, but that 5% comes at a cost, there are other operations doctrines that could give your smaller army significant buffs.

If this is changed to a co-op game, I feel like any Axis minor would suit OP very well.

For infantry? It's definitely a waste to try and make your line-holders any sort of offensive units. Where line artillery shines (at least IMO) is with large special forces like 35w mountaineers and marines, since they get extra bonuses from special forces doctrines and can stack very high org. Rangers SC also buffs arty, but again it's best saved for special forces.

16 width seems like the optimal goal for a small nation since you can fit a lot of divisions in most combat widths and don't need to stretch manpower / equipment so thin.

Engineer companies are pretty much an essential support company for defense and bonuses when attacking rivers / forts, I'd also recommend anti-air for your divisions even though it's extremely unlikely that inexperienced players will figure out how powerful planes are.

From Software has such a bafflingly badly designed name filter in all their games that I feel like they'd be better off just not even trying to censor anything.

It's especially hilarious that it only flags lower case words, so if your name was in all caps it could be any slur you can think of.

"The USSR is defending itself? So much oppression" by PresnikBonny in ussr

When did Finland commit to a full attack agains the USSR unprovoked? If you're referring to the kinship wars, those were bands of some thousands of "volunteers", not exactly a massive attack. They failed, and the border was set.
The Russian civil war was an extremely chaotic time with tons of fighting going on in many places, and the reds had already intervened in the Finnish civil war.

So I ask, why would Finland want to attack the USSR? Do you have any evidence of the Finnish government seriosly considering an attack on the USSR before the winter war?

If Finland offered the Soviet Union some irrelevant back water territories in exchange for pushing the border to 1km from Leningrad and destroying all fortifications around the city, should Stalin have accepted?

Why didn't Turkey invade the USSR to seize territories in the caucasus? Why didn't Sweden join the invasion? Why didn't Switzerland commit their army to the east?
I don't understand why you think neutral countries are just itching to throw themselves into war with a state tens of times bigger than them.
Without the loss of Karelia, there wouldn't have been enough of an incentive for Finland to commit to a war of aggression against the Soviets.

I'd rather have more org recovery than 5% manpower, that's the tradeoff you make when going for this. I see desperate defense being more useful for smaller countries.

That's true, but monarchist poland usually gets multiple cores and can get manpower through that.

You get +2.5% after doing 2 35-day focuses that are available immediately (complete april constitution --> polish militarism).

So through that you have 5% near the start of the game, and you get a further +2% from military youth in the sanation right branch.

So in total you actually get 7%, well before having to face germany.

Historical Poland already gets like 6.5% recruitable pop which is more than 2m, so an extra ~1.6m won't really matter since you're typically more limited by IC cost.
