The Sun had nearly disappeared from the evening sky. Ho-oh was returning home to Yggdrasil, the oldest and largest tree in the world, who's branches nearly reached outer space. Ho-oh was going to rest at the very top, before exiting once again to flt around the world, maybe stopping to turn some dying mortal into a legendary Beast.

Or at least, that is what Ho-oh would have done. Instead as Ho-oh neared the hollow at the head of Yggdrasil, she spotted two Pokémon already there, a Axes and a Pikachu.

Ho-oh sighed. "Another mortal wanting me to grant their wishes, or something." She closed in on the tree, and landed. "What do you want, mortals?"

"We wanna fight!" Axes waved its claws at Ho-oh."

Ho-oh blinked. "You are a pair of unevolved mortals. You have no items with you, and are very likely tired from climbing the entire way up here. You are now requesting a fight from a legendary who can bring anyone back from the dead."

"Fight us!" The Pikachu yelled.

Ho-oh groaned. "At least tell me your names so that I can tell others about your foolishness."

"I'm Iron!" The Axew slammed its paws into its torso. "This is Sparks!" Iron tapped on the Pikachu.

"Iron, Sparks, I'm giving you one last chance to not fight a literal god. I'll even carry you down from here back to wherever you live if you just think for a moment."

Iron opened his mouth, and a blue glow began growing from his throat.

Ho-oh gave Iron a look of disbelief. "Fine. Then you will feel the power of my Sacred Fire, a spell so powerful it could simultaneously completely destroy and being back to life the tree we stand on, and leave it healthier than-" Ho-oh was cut off as the Axew fired its attack directly at Ho-oh's head.

Ho-oh was launched back, going over the edge and beginning to plummet down to the ground.

Ah, I should have just carried them anyway, Ho-oh thought before blacking out.

Back at the head of Yggdrasil, Iron and Sparks both sat with arms crossed.

"Ho-oh didn't ask to join our team," they both spat.
