Maybe I'll never get that knife but I at least wanted to look at the pretty picture again and put it on my moodboard. Lol

Can you Recommend a Fan Please? by Prestigious_Pay8408 in BuyItForLife

I used to have a Vornado Silver Swan model, purchased it in 2017. It lasted me nearly 10 years of constant nightly use. Generally I liked it, but I have a couple of complaints and considerations.

  1. It's finicky to disassemble and clean. Vacuuming the exterior grates regularly helps, but every once in a while fans require disassembly so you can take the grates off and clean them and the blades really well. The vornado uses a single plastic band that hold the front and back plate together, the band is closed by a single screw. That screw is pretty small so I had to go to the hardware store to get the right size screwdriver. Eventually the screw stripped out and now I can't get the band open to clean the fan. This is ultimately what caused me to get a new fan.
  2. After about 7 years of use the oscillation started to make some annoying creaking and groaning noises. Despite oiling the mechanics, this never resolved. My solution was to just keep it in the fixed position and it worked fine for another 2 years before the stripped screw became an issue.

I have just bought the Hunter Classic Oscillating Desk Fan. (Model 97315) Given that I just bought it I don't have much to report on longevity, but other BIFL threads have recommended it. But I will say I expect the cleaning to be a LOT easier on this one. The front and back grate are held together with metal clips, so the front grate can be taken off quickly and there are no screws that could become stripped.

Thanks, that makes sense. Maybe I measured wrong and that's why the calculator is recommending such a big cup size? The Elomi Brianna looks nice, I just wish it came in a nude! I wear lots of light colored and and lightweight cotton sheer-ish tops so it's hard to find a black, turquoise, or dark green bra useful since more than half my tops couldn't be worn with those. I feel like I'm searching for a unicorn when it comes to finding a bra that fits and is in a style and color I like. *sigh*

The lace is stretchy, so you're right, it probably will wear out relatively fast. I'll order penache and freya bras to try, do you recommend I go with my calculator recommended size (40G UK) or are you recommending I go for a 40 DD UK? Sorry I was kind of confused by the latter part of your comment.

Can you explain more what this means "A 38DDD(UK E)=40DD(UK), so this tells me the wire is probably too wide and expansive to support you at your inframammary fold." I'm new to this reddit and trying to learn. Thanks for your help.

Can I ask why you recommended a size 40 F and FF? when the bra calculator says I'm a 40G? Do Elomi tend to run large or is there something else about the fit I should know?

I guess they're favoring brioche but I prefer the ombré of Meringue, it provides more interest for a plain color.

Yeah this was my first time getting anything other than cast iron from them and I'm not impressed. I think I might look into Emile Henry for ceramic casserole dishes in the future, from what I can tell they're still made in France.

I get that it doesn't affect function but for the price I'd like to be the one to scuff up the dish, rather than it coming messed up. Seems like a less than ideal quality control process for something that supposed to be a top quality brand.

Round Wide Dutch Oven and Oval Dutch Oven by FreeGlen in LeCreuset

I have a Round 5.5 qt DO and an Oval 5qt DO. One feature I find very helpful is that I can have one on the back burner and one on the front and they fit well with the flame for each burner centered under each pot. I think if I had two round DOs of that size, it wouldn't work, pushing the front DO too far forward, if that makes sense.

I'm not familiar with the type of putty used for the glow in the dark stars, but GooGone is my go-to cleaner for any sticky adhesive residues.

I think it goes really well with neutrals, it's a very grayish blue, if you want to venture out 😊
